Jesusland – How They see You

The America you are looking for is the America you will find, and if this is all they see then by god these people hate America.  You are “the other” to them as surely as they claim the brownies of the world are alien to you.  Jesusland is a catchy little tune by the talented Ben Folds, but this elitist young hippie looking judgmentally down his nose at society seems pretentious and is gravely annoying to me.  There is nothing sincere or intellectually honest about this.  As if “Jesus” or religion is what ails us.  As if this footage couldn’t have been shot in New Jersey.  As if a proctologist’s view of our country is the real America, and I’d want to trade it all in for the ghettos of New York, San Francisco, Paris or Stockholm.  Just another small peak into the secular progressive mind.  Their alienation from the American people is complete.
