The End of Christendom

From the racist/xenophobic files:

“There are signs that Allah will grant victory to Islam in Europe without swords, without guns, without conquest.”

Forgive me if I’m still slightly attached to what we used to call Christendom.  That’s the sekrit racist in me.

Oh wait.  I’m hispanic.  My college professor told me minorities can’t be racist.

Hitchens on Galloway

Far Left British MP, George Galloway epitomizes the Leftwing/Jihadi convergence we so often decry here on CCHQ.   Liberal author and polemicist, Christopher Hitchens, skewers the vile Galloway for his 5th columnist ways:

“A strategic majority of the hard Left views Islamist fascism, even in its Al Quaida form, in some perverted way as a kind of Liberation theology.”

Peaceful Loving Flower Children of the Left “Voice” Their “Concerns”

Spreading the love, the violent Left at it again:

Overnight, an impromptu riot at the University of California-Berkeley snowballed to include 300 students and resulted in flaming dumpsters, broken windows and dancing in the streets.

The Daily Californian kept a timeline of the riot, which began as a small occupation of Durant Hall, a campus building, in acknowledgment of Campus Action Day March 4, in which students plan to hold large-scale protests of mounting tuition increases. But by 2 a.m., the scene began to turn.

At 1:55 a.m., a dumpster appeared to be on fire in the middle of Telegraph Ave. An individual pushed the dumpster on its side as people appear to be dancing around and on top of it.At about 2:05 a.m., a fight appeared to have broken out in the middle of Telegraph Ave. and Durant Ave. Berkeley police responded to the scene, pushing people away south on Telegraph Ave.

Police appeared to be using batons to disperse people.

Protesters appeared to be throwing what appeared to be trash and buckets at police officers.

More, here.

Now try to imagine this riot didn’t involve peaceful loving Leftwing activistas but instead those “angry” “seething” “racist” Tea Party tax protesters instead.  White supremacist theocracy!  Brownshirts!  Hitler!  Racists!  That’s the firestorm the MSM would be raising about it right now across your tv screens.  It would be the headline story for the next 3 weeks.   Isn’t that what they tried to do with the town halls and Tea Parties?  That’s their template.  But here?  Peaceful loving flower children voice their concerns as they peacefully and lovingly speak truth to power.  Let’s give them what they want.  That too is the MSM’s template.  As it is, this story won’t even make the ticker newsfeed at the bottom of your screen.  That’s because Leftwing violence is so normative it hardly registers on the collective outrage meter.  The Left has always been angry and violent.  Democracy just isn’t good enough for them.  They actually FOSTER this kind of violence and anger.  Because without it, there wouldn’t be a Left.  Their movement would dissipate, and their prols would drift off into a mainstream slumber.  “Oh,” they say, “but we have reason to be angry!”  Get in line, pal.  Who doesn’t.  This subtext of violence for a righteous cause is actually one of the draws to these young punks “speaking truth to power.”  Call it the hippie macho response for all those years of getting kicked around by high school jocks.  I don’t for one second equate these spoiled punks with the marches of the Civil Rights era, or the downtrodden indigenous populations of Central America who had every reason to march and vent.  These thugs then grow up, put on a suit and tie, and get jobs in the sympathetic MSM.  Their violence remains normative, and you, gentle readers, are trashed as latent Brownshirts and skinheads by the very people in those riots.

Kadhafi calls for jihad against Switzerland over minaret ban

The Swiss suffer “blowback.”

Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi called on Thursday for jihad (holy war) against Switzerland over the ban adopted last year on the construction of minarets in the country.

“It is against unbelieving and apostate Switzerland that jihad ought to be proclaimed by all means, Kadhafi said during a speech in the Mediterranean coastal city of Bengazi to mark the birthday of the Muslim Prophet Mohammed.

“Jihad against Switzerland, against Zionism, against foreign aggression is not terrorism,” Kadhafi said.

“Any Muslim around the world who has dealings with Switzerland is an infidel (and is) against Islam, against Mohammed, against God, against the Koran,” the leader told a crowd of thousands in a speech broadcast live on television.

In a November 29 referendum, Swiss voters approved by a margin of 57.5 percent a ban on the construction in their country of minarets, the tower that are a signature part of mosques.

Article here.

Lybian leader, Muammar khadafi, says terrorism is called for against the Swiss because they refuse to take their dhimmification lying down.  He calls the Swiss minaret ban “foreign aggression.”  This is the same guy who has already declared Islam’s victory in Europe, here. Perhaps that’s why he also calls the Swiss “apostates”, as if Switzerland were already a part of Dar al-Islam.  Of course, the Islamist doesn’t concede to “terrorism”, he calls it “jihad.”  But it is terrorism in the name of Islam, nonetheless.  That Khadafi has no problem talking like this openly and on mic to his people speaks volumes.  In the West, jihad–or so they tell us– is the work of “isolated” nuts.  In the middle East, it is mainstream.  Yes, mainstream.  It has to be, or why else would a Mohammed cartoon be bigger news in the Middle East than this is?  Where are the mass protests in the region against Khadafi’s calls for terrorism in the name of their religion?  On the contrary, jihad talk in the Middle East is the stuff of high praise.  Much like Americans would like to spread freedom and democracy throughout the globe, that’s how they see Dar al-Islam.  But apparently there’s nothing to see here.  So move along you proles.  You probably won’t even be alive to see any of the good stuff going down anyway.  But your kids will.

Changing Culture, Changing Names

To make a big deal out of this would make me sound lunatic.  So I won’t.  I’ll just say one thing though: where there’s smoke, there’s fire.

Celebrities aren’t the only ones giving their babies unusual names. Compared with decades ago, parents are choosing less common names for kids, which could suggest an emphasis on uniqueness and individualism, according to new research.  Essentially, today’s kids (and later adults) will stand out from classmates. For instance, in the 1950s, the average first-grade class of 30 children would have had at least one boy named James (top name in 1950), while in 2013, six classes will be necessary to find only one Jacob, even though that was the most common boys’ name in 2007.

The researchers suspect the uptick of unusual baby names could be a sign of a change in culture from one that applauded fitting in to today’s emphasis on being unique and standing out. When taken too far, however, this individualism could also lead to narcissism, according to study researcher Jean Twenge, of San Diego State University.

Results showed parents were less likely to choose those popular names as time went on. For instance, in the late 1800s and early 1900s, about 5 percent of babies were named the top common name, while more recently that dropped to 1 percent.

The results held even when the researchers accounted for immigration rates and increasing Latino populations, which could bring relatively less common names into the mix.

“The most compelling explanation left is this idea that parents are much more focused on their children standing out,” Twenge told LiveScience. “There’s been this cultural shift toward focusing on the individual, toward standing out and being unique as opposed to fitting in with the group and following the rules.”

The positive side of individualism, Twenge said, is that there is less prejudice and more tolerance for minority groups. But she warns that when individualism is taken too far, the result is narcissism.  “I think it is an indication of our culture becoming more narcissistic,” Twenge said.

Past research has shown that back in the 1950s parents placed a lot of importance on a child being obedient, which has gone way down. “Parenting has become more permissive and more child-focused and [parents] are much more reluctant to be authority figures,” Twenge said.  As for whether these unusually named kids will have personalities to match is not known.

“It remains to be seen whether having a unique name necessarily leads to narcissism later in life,” Twenge said. “If that unique name is part of a parent’s overall philosophy that their child is special and needs to stand out and that fitting in is a bad thing, then that could lead to those personality traits.”

BREAKING NEWS: Climate Science Not Settled (And Gore Should be Charged Under RICO statutes)

People aren’t stupid.  We know when we’re being had, and we appreciate and respect intellectual honesty.  We know it when we see it.  Ultimately their unscientific dishonesty and Alinskyite tactics will have cost the global warmists YEARS of valuable time.  Now they’ll have to make up for all that lost time by doing the science right.

More than 150 years of global temperature records are to be re-examined by scientists in an attempt to regain public trust in climate science after revelations about errors and suppression of data.  The Met Office has submitted proposals for the reassessment by an independent panel in a tacit admission that its previous reports have been marred by their reliance on analysis by the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU).

The new analysis would test the conclusion reached by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) that “warming of the climate system is unequivocal”.  The World Meteorological Organisation said the Met Office proposal had been approved in principle this week by delegates at a meeting in Antalya, Turkey.

The IPCC has come under attack in recent weeks after it emerged that its latest report contained a number of errors, all of which overstated the severity of the threat posed by climate change. The most glaring error was a claim that all Himalayan glaciers would disappear by 2035. Most glaciologists believe it would take another 300 years for the glaciers to melt at the present rate.

The Met Office said that the reassessment would take up to three years. It hopes the findings will be ready for the IPCC’s next report, due to be published in 2013 and 2014.  The Met Office intends to hold a meeting at which “key players” from climate science and weather centres around the world would decide how to conduct the reassessment.

It adds: “Recognising that no single institution can undertake such a fundamental data collection, reanalysis and verification process single-handedly, we would envisage this as a broad community effort — a ‘grand challenge’ so to speak — involving UK and international partners.”  The document also suggests that “multiple independent groups” could consider the same raw data.

It adds that scientists participating in the process will be encouraged to be open about the uncertainties in their conclusions.  “Participants will be required to create a full audit trail and publish their methodology in the peer-reviewed literature. Strong preference will be given to systems … that reflect the uncertainties in the observations and methods.”

Scientists have been forced to withdraw a study on projected sea level rise due to global warming after finding mistakes that undermined the findings. The study, published in 2009 in Nature Geoscience, one of the top journals in its field, confirmed the conclusions of the 2007 report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). It used data over the last 22,000 years to predict that sea level would rise by between 7cm and 82cm by the end of the century.

At the time, Mark Siddall, from the Earth Sciences Department at the University of Bristol, said the study “strengthens the confidence with which one may interpret the IPCC results“. The IPCC said that sea level would probably rise by 18cm-59cm by 2100, though stressed this was based on incomplete information about ice sheet melting and that the true rise could be higher.

In a statement the authors of the paper said: “Since publication of our paper we have become aware of two mistakes which impact the detailed estimation of future sea level rise. This means that we can no longer draw firm conclusions regarding 21st century sea level rise from this study without further work.

“One mistake was a miscalculation; the other was not to allow fully for temperature change over the past 2,000 years. Because of these issues we have retracted the paper and will now invest in the further work needed to correct these mistakes.”  In the Nature Geoscience retraction, in which Siddall and his colleagues explain their errors, Vermeer and Rahmstorf are thanked for “bringing these issues to our attention”.

Why CCHQ Never Comments on Party Politics

This is hilarious, and epitomizes why I seldom venture into the open sewer that is party politics.

Listen to those Dems defending their filibuster! ha ha ha!

Dems condemning in 2005 exactly what they’re threatening to do now.  And today the GOP is condemning what THEY were threatening to do in 2005!  ha ha ha!  If you let anything these people do rile you then you are a tool.

And now you know why CCHQ doesn’t jerk your chain with all that beltway nonsense, gentle readers.  Both parties USE EXACTLY THE SAME TACTICS.  If one party is craven, the other one is equally so.  That’s why we don’t defend the GOP here at CCHQ, and we don’t attack the Democrats.  It’s a waste of all of our times.  Our target here is the LEFT– their worldview and their policies.

Harry Reid and Hillary were absolutely right in 2005.  The filibuster was created for good reason– to prevent power grabs and radical political swings.  “Gridlock” and “broken government” is just a matter of whose ox is getting gored.

SecProgs: Ten Commandments Irrelevant

Every day the Secular Progressives of academia provide us with grist for the mill.  Here a survey reveals a little bit of the mindset of the Academy and the impact having a college education makes on people’s beliefs about God and country.

( College professors are more likely than the average person to believe that the Ten Commandments are irrelevant today — and to think that America is a corrupting influence on good people, according to a new study released Monday.

Those who teach on American college campuses are more likely to agree with the statements “America corrupts otherwise good people” and  “The Ten Commandments are irrelevant today,” according to the report, which was unveiled at a news conference at The Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C., conducted  by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, an educational organization based in Wilmington, Del.

Dr. Richard Brake, director of ISI’s Culture of Enterprise Initiative, cautioned that the survey results DO NOT say that all–or even most–college teachers think that America corrupts otherwise good people — or that the Ten Commandments are irrelevant.  “But they are more likely to think that having taught college, and they are more likely to think that compared to the rest of the population,” Brake said.

Brake explained that ISI randomly sampled 2,508 Americans from all walks of life, asking them 39 questions designed to elicit their beliefs, including the question: “(Do you agree or disagree): America corrupts otherwise good people.”

“When we filtered all those other impacts that might influence the way you might answer that question and just looked at the impact of being a teacher in college, we found that there were six propositions that (teaching at a college) had a significant statistical influence on. Number one was, ‘America corrupts otherwise good people.’

“Being a college teacher made them more likely to agree with that proposition,” Brake added.

Likewise, professors were also more likely than other Americans to agree with the statement: “The Ten Commandments are irrelevant for today.”  “Now, again, even college professors don’t (all) think the Ten Commandments are totally irrelevant, but they believe that much more so than the regular population.” Brake told

College professors, according to the report, were also more likely to agree with the statement: “Educators should instill more doubt in students and reject certainty.”  That’s not surprising, Brake said, given that today’s professoriate was trained from the 60’s and 70’s onward to be skeptical, adhering to the mantra of “Question Authority.”  “These are the people that are now our professors–the ones that said ‘Hey, Hey, Ho, Ho, Western Civ has got to go,” Brake told

In 2006 and 2007, ISI administered a 60-question multiple-choice exam testing 14,000 college freshmen and seniors on their knowledge of  American history, government, foreign affairs and market economics. The students failed on average in both years. In 2008, the focus shifted toward comparing the civic literacy of college graduates to non-college graduates. Seventy-one percent of Americans taking the test flunked and college students were not much more knowledgeable about American history and institutions than other citizens.

In 2010,  the study’s principal findings, Brake said, are that those who possess college degrees are more likely than those who don’t to favor same-sex marriage and abortion on demand, and less likely to agree that “anyone can succeed in America with hard work and perseverance” or that teachers should be allowed to lead prayers in public schools.

The rest, here.

Well there you have it.  The more edumacated you are the less you give a rat’s ass about the very foundation of Western culture–The Ten Commandments.   It seems to me the Academy goes out of its way to prove the tenuous link between a person’s wisdom and his intelligence or education.  If there is any correlation at all you might be forgiven for thinking it’s an inverse one.

Notice also their hatred for America is right up there with their disdain for the Bible.  The reasons are manyfold.  Their contempt for regular Americans and their backward “desert religion” (that’s how they see christianity), even though they will deny till they’re blue in the face America is a christian nation; our foreign policy which doesn’t tilt Left enough for them; our capitalist system which will never be quite socialist enough for their tastes (compare the welfare state of present-day America to how it was before the New Deal).  In short, we aren’t the SecProg utopia of their fantasies yet.  But although they believe America “corrupts” you, don’t you dare question their patriotism!  Hoo boy!  lol.  Try to make sense of that one if you can.

It boils down to this, gentle readers.  Secular Progressivism has become a replacement religion to these folks.   Everybody has got to believe in something higher.   The result is that Christianity has been placed in direct competition with these Utopians and their Earthly religion.  I don’t think it had to be that way, at least not in the U.S. which never had a state Church propping up the status quo.  But that’s how it ended up.  They believe Christianity stands in the way.  Thus they have made it a contest between the two– their religion vs ours.  And because you cannot serve two masters, you have to choose one.  These intellectuals have chosen their’s, and so have we.  We are at odds, and there is no avoiding it.

These are the people educating your children and future generations of the West.  Your little Johnny goes off to college, and he never comes back.  So parents, choose wisely where you decide to send your money.  Because everything you taught little Johnny to believe is up for grabs once he falls into their clutches.   The Left’s fertility rate is far lower than the Right’s.  This is how they keep up with us.  You have the child and raise him, then send him off to replenish the Left’s diminishing ranks after you did all the hard work.  Works out pretty good for them!

SecProgs: Projectile Vomiting = Art

America, take a good look at the people who sneer down their noses at you as “uncultured.”

Oscar winning actress Susan Sarandon has had a bad time of it lately. The actress recently separated from her long time partner, actor Tim Robbins. Sarandon attended the third anniversary of The Box in New York’s Lower East Side.A

A transsexual cabaret performer named Rose Wood engaged in projectile vomiting on stage and hit Sarandon with it . Standing nearby were Scarlett Johansson and Liev Schreiber.  According to Wood it was not intended as an affront to the actress and she didn’t take it that way.

“Apparently [Sarandon] got a big kick out of it. She squealed with surprise and loved it when several handsome gentlemen wiped it off of her. She had a ball! I saw her assistant downstairs afterward, and he was moved by it! She was in great spirits,” Wood told the New York Press.

Wood explains that vomiting on people is fitting is this establishment. “[It was a] fitting time for an outrageous act: the third anniversary of The Box. Everybody wants to offer safe and ordinary, not The Box!”  And it’s not the first time the transsexual performer has engaged in this kind of thing.

“I threw up on someone several weeks ago. They went to the manager and said, ‘That tranny just threw up on me.’ The manager said, ‘How cool is that!’  He said if that happened to me, I’d call my friends and we’d all be there tomorrow!'”

Don’t you just feel like such a rube? Ben Shapiro at Big Hollywood deconstructs the spewage for you:

Nothing says fun like vomit.

This sort of “performance art” is the death of true art.  I know, I know, art is subjective.  But transsexuals vomiting on people is not art – it’s gross.  And mostly, it carries an unvarying underlying leftism: the idea that action that is “subversive” is automatically artistic.  Art historian Roselee Goldberg sums up performance art this way: “Performance has been a way of appealing directly to a large public, as well as shocking audiences into reassessing their own notions of art and its relation to culture.”  Here’s what Janelle Reinelt and Joseph Roach say in Critical Theory and Performance“The current commodification process of much performance art suggests than any subversive potential inherent in the art form loses its capacity to engage in any radical critique once it enters more mainstream mass culture venues and spectatorships.”

The truth is that performance art is largely a function of critical theory (one of the awful creations of the Frankfurt School), which suggests that any artistic material that is worth its salt ought to criticize. Hence the production of art which is utterly disgusting and disreputable – at least it doesn’t enforce the capitalist status quo by appealing to the people.

Boiled down to its essence, this is just elitist claptrap. Unfortunately, it’s taken seriously by the vast majority of New York and Los Angeles artists, who somehow think it’s cool to be the object of transsexual chunk-blowing.

I’m not a transsexual, obviously, but I’ll make Susan Sarandon and her ilk this offer: I’ll vomit on them at any time, anywhere, so long as they say the same thing – that it’s avant garde performance art worthy of praise.  Seriously.  I have a very strong gag reflex.  Which is just one reason the left’s version of art is so unbelievably hard to stomach.

How did we get here?  Simple.  Cultural elitism–the demonization of the mainstream, and their desire to distance themselves from you.  The more acceptable the Secular Progressive becomes to the mainstream, the more extreme and outrageous they are forced to act.   They have to maintain that distance.  And the cycle continues with no end in sight.  That’s the wild train ride we’re on in this country as long as the Left is culturally ascendant.  It’s time to exit the train people.  Say no to Leftism.  It is a cultural disorder.  Because this is what you get.  It’s a package deal.

ACORN dissolved as a national structure

ACORN going underground.  MSM not all that interested.

The embattled liberal group ACORN is in the process of dissolving its national structure, with state and local-chapters splitting off from the underfunded, controversial national group, an official close to the group confirmed.

“ACORN has dissolved as a national structure of state organizations,” said a senior official close to the group, who declined to be identified by name because of the fierce conservative attacks on the group that began when a conservative filmmaker caught some staffers of its tax advisory arms on tape appearing to offer advice on incorporating a prostitution business.

The videos proved a rallying point for conservatives who had long accused the group of fomenting voting fraud. Though the videos did not produce criminal charges, they appear to have been fatal to the national organization.

“Consistent with what the internal recommendations have been, each of the states are developing plans for reconstitution independence and self-sufficiency,” said the official, citing ACORN’s “diminished resources, damage to the brand, unprecedented attacks.”

The new organizations, he said “will be constituted under new banners and new bylaws and new governance,” he said, consistent with the recommendations of an outside panel.

UPDATE: A person familiar with the New York reorganization said the new group has a new board, including some relative outsiders, like an official at the union Workers United, Wilfredo Larancuent, as well as most of the old leadership.

“It’s not like this is some kind of hostile thing,” said the New York source. “This is what Fox has produced. National Acorn and Bertha Lewis are continuing doing their thing, but the New York flagship has been forced into this new organization.”

“As far as the work in the communities and policy campaigns, no one will notice the difference,” the source said. “It’s people who still believe in their basic mission of fighting for poor people.”

ALSO: National ACORN says it continues to exist, despite the departure of state chapters, including also California’s, which departed under similar terms last month.

Read the rest, here.

When James O’keefe was releasing his ACORN videos, the MSM was awol and O’keefe was invisible.  It was a non-story.  Only after nearly a month of shaming by Fox News did some MSM outlets lower themselves to mention it, and only for the purpose of dismissing it.  Then ACORN exposer James O’keefe was arrested for alleged (by the media) wiretapping, and suddenly he was the stuff of BREAKING NEWS.  Broadcasts were interrupted to breathlessly report “Watergate, Jr.” with the hopes of implicating O’keefe and his boss, Andrew Breitbart.  The story was rushed to print the following morning at the New York Times to spread the good news!  I can imagine most of their readership saying to themselves, James who?  With little or no prior context, it must have been a story that came out of the ether for most of their viewers and readers who’d probably never even heard of the guy unless they’d been watching Fox News or trolling rightwing blogs.  But why else would the O’keefe arrest merit this kind of attention but for the ACORN tapes story–which the MSM was loathe to cover?  By reflexively jumping at the James O’keefe arrest the MSM exposed not only their bias, but their wilfull and intentional AGENDA.

MSM: CPAC Speaker Bashed Obama in Racial Tones

NY Times race-baiting cultural elitist hears conservative speaker at CPAC and mistakes his Brooklyn accent for racial mockery:

How can conservatives win the youth vote that overwhelmingly went for Barack Obama in 2008? At the Conservative Political Action Conference, apparently, some are betting on using racial stereotypes.

In a panel appealing to conservatives under 30, Jason Mattera, author of a forthcoming book called “Obama Zombies: How the Liberal Machine Brainwashed My Generation,” likened the gathering to “our Woodstock.”

“Except that unlike the last gathering, our women are beautiful, we speak in complete sentences and our notion of freedom doesn’t consist of snorting cocaine,” he said, “which is certainly one thing that separates us from Barack Obama.”

After the laughing died down, he added, “Actually, on the cocaine front, I do believe many people in America viewed Barack as they do drugs: it was a substance to experiment with.”

Dramatic pause for more laughter, and then, “But like most narcotics, the hangover afterward has them thinking, What the hell did I just do?”

He then mocked what he described, with a Chris Rock voice, as “diversity,” including, he said, college classes on “cyber feminism” and “what it means to be a feminist new black man.”

ha ha ha!

He was talking with a “Chris Rock voice” says the race baiter at the NY Times.  White she-Liberal with an over-developed faux sensitivity to racism hears an inner city accent and assumes it’s “black.”  And coming from a conservative it must be “mockery.”  Of course!  It’s racial mockery!   One little problem– JASON MATTERA IS FROM BROOKLYN.  THAT’S HOW HE TALKS.  And his reference to cocaine wasn’t “racial” mockery either.  Barack did do cocaine.  Mockery yes, racial NO.   Funny thing, that racism.  It’s EVERYWHERE they tell us!  And this– CPAC dude with a Brooklyn accent– is the best they can do?

Here’s the Jason Mattera video, at 3:30.

And here the best Breitbart EVAH as he calls out the despicable New York Times race baiter, KATE ZERNIKE:

Creeping Sharia: Honor Killer Spared Death Because He’s Muslim?

Honor Murdered: Noor Faleh Almaleki

Remember that quaint and outdated notion of equality under the law?  Not anymore!  How far should we go in our efforts to be culturally “sensitive” when certain aspects of that culture are the epitome of barbarism?  Below the marriage of jurisprudence, multicultarism and the changing muslim demographics.

A Glendale man accused of slaying his daughter in an “honor killing” will not face the death penalty.

After sparring with the suspect’s defense attorney over its death penalty review process, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has said it will not seek death for Faleh Almaleki, 49. The Iraqi immigrant is accused of slaying his daughter, 20-year-old Noor Almaleki, for being “too Westernized.”

The decision not to seek the death penalty comes after Almaleki’s attorney, Billy Little, a public defender, asked a judge to take special precautions to ensure the County Attorney’s Office wouldn’t wrongly seek the death penalty because Almaleki is a Muslim.

Little requested that the office make public the process it uses to determine whether to seek capital punishment.  “An open process provides some level of assurance that there is no appearance that a Christian is seeking to execute a Muslim for racial, political, religious or cultural beliefs,” Little wrote, referring to County Attorney Andrew Thomas’ Christian faith.

Mike Scerbo, a spokesman for the County Attorney’s Office, issued the following statement Friday:  “The defendant is charged with first degree murder and, if convicted, will spend the rest of his life in prison. As is in all first degree murder cases, the decision on whether to seek the death penalty is made on a case by case basis. Cultural considerations played no part in the decision not to seek the death penalty.”

Prosecutors said Almaleki has admitted killing his daughter because she disgraced the family by not following traditional Iraqi or Muslim values.  They liken the case to honor killings that occur in the Middle East, Africa and other parts of the world. In tribal societies where the practice occurs, male family members feel they must kill a rebellious female relative who shames them by not adhering to traditional values.

Equal treatment under the law.  Is that still the standard?  It’s a standard that, because of human frailty, admittedly isn’t always met, but it’s been the standard nonetheless.  And it’s a good one.  In the new multicultural society of “wise Latinas” and cultural sensitivity (read allowances) of all kinds, the very notion of equality under the law begins to sound like a relic of our reactionary past.

“This country was founded on the concept of Epluribus Unum — from the many, ONE.  The multicultural crap that you instill in our kids the second they get into college, and you separate them and pit them against each other so you can get votes every election cycle, that’s ending right now.”

“Yes, we do have video cameras, professors, and we’re going to use them against you…You are the first place that needs to be reformed.”

“We are going to come after you so hard, you have no idea what you have awoken in this country.”

Israel Unveils New Droid Air Force

Israeli droids can reach Iranian nuke sites.

An Israeli strike against Iranian nukes, without American assistance, would be tantamount to a suicide mission.  Israel would not ask its pilots to do that.

TEL NOF AIR FORCE BASE, Israel – Israel’s air force on Sunday introduced a fleet of huge pilotless planes that can remain in the air for a full day and fly as far as the Persian Gulf, putting rival Iran within its range.  The Heron TP drones have a wingspan of 86 feet (26 meters), making them the size of Boeing 737 passenger jets and the largest unmanned aircraft in Israel’s military. The planes can fly at least 20 consecutive hours and are primarily used for surveillance and carrying diverse payloads.

At the fleet’s inauguration ceremony at a sprawling air base in central Israel, the drone dwarfed an F-15 fighter jet parked beside it. The unmanned plane resembles its predecessor, the Heron, but can fly higher, reaching an altitude of more than 40,000 feet (12,000 meters), and remain in the air longer.  “With the inauguration of the Heron TP, we are realizing the air force’s dream,” said Brig. Gen. Amikam Norkin, head of the base that will operate the drones. “The Heron TP is a technological and operational breakthrough.”

Israeli officials refused to say how large the new fleet is or whether the planes were designed for use against Iran, but stressed it was versatile and could adapt to new missions. The plane’s maker, state-owned Israel Aerospace Industries, has said it is capable of reaching the Persian Gulf, which would put Iran within its range.  “The Heron TP has the potential to be able to conduct new missions down the line as they become relevant,” said Maj. Gen. Ido Nehushtan, commander of Israel’s air force.

Israel believes Tehran is trying to develop nuclear weapons and has repeatedly hinted it could strike Iran if diplomatic efforts to curb the nuclear program fail.  Israeli defense officials said the Heron TP could be a useful tool against Iran, whose leaders have repeatedly called for the Jewish state’s destruction. In addition to providing surveillance, the aircraft can jam enemy communications as well as assist in communications between ground control and manned air force planes.

Mickey likes it.  A lot. Obama is awol on Iranian nukes, and Israel isn’t going to sit around and wait for his help nor his permission.  Whether you or I believe Iran is hellbent on wiping Israel off the map is irrelevant.  All that matters is that Israel believes it.  They aren’t going to make the same mistake they did with Hitler.  When someone says they want to destroy you, assume they mean it.

Science: Global Warming Causes Bigger Hurricanes

This doesn’t prove bigger hurricanes but it does proves the existence of parallel universes.

AP – Top researchers now agree that the world is likely to get stronger but fewer hurricanes in the future because of global warming, seeming to settle a scientific debate on the subject. But they say there’s not enough evidence yet to tell whether that effect has already begun.

Science! Pure and untainted by any policy objectives or goals.   And even though there’s not enough evidence, the science is settled.  Don’t question it, just accept it!

MSM Made Obama’s Bed, Now He’s Sleeping In it

President Obama’s popularity is crashing like a bad sugar high.  During the campaign, I predicted that he would pay the price for the unrealistic expectations people were placing on the blank slate that was candidate Obama.  Breitbart says the MSM undersold Bush for 8 years, and oversold Obama.  He says it was the media that ultimately created this perceived “broken promise with the American people,” and Obama’s now paying the price.

“The rebellion that you’re seeing in Massachusetts and across the country isn’t because Barack Obama stinks that much, it’s because you oversold him, and you undersold the last president.”

How To Deal With The Race Baiters

New rule: when they call you a racist, the conversation is over.

And again, here, with Democratic hatchet man Max Blumenthal:

When they pull the race card they aren’t looking for a conversation, they’re not looking for a meeting of the minds, they aren’t looking for an intelligent exchange.  At that point there’s little use engaging them because that’s not what they’re looking for.  And they’re right.  We’ve heard each other’s arguments a billion times over already, we can finish each other’s sentences.  What’s left to talk about?  Besides it’s not them we’re really trying to reach.  We’re talking to the undecideds.  And so are they.  The race card is just their attempt to shut you down and keep you from being heard by the undecided middle.  And they will engage in the politics of personal destruction and character assassination if that’s what it takes.  So you treat them accordingly:  when you invite them into your house only to be slandered as a racist, you do what Breitbart did– send them packing.
