I’d really like to have the Auto Assault-12 franchise for Israel. Fast-rope headfirst muzzle-first onto the decks of the Love Boat. Oh, yeah! But that’s just me. Some GAU-8s would be better medicine, I guess. Once they opened fire, is what I’m saying.
Less restraint than the actual ‘assualt’ team Thorvald. Check this out from the original ‘cached’ Huffpo article 5/31/10 11:56 PM:
“A soldier identified only as a sergeant told reporters at a military briefing that the activists on board ‘were armed with knives, scissors, pepper spray and guns.’ He said he was armed only with a paintball rifle. ‘It was a civilian paintball gun that any 12-year-old can play with,” he said. “I saw my friends on the deck spitting blood.’
The high-seas confrontation was a nightmare scenario for Israel, which insisted its soldiers were simply unprepared for what awaited them on the Mavi Marmara, the ship carrying 600 of the 700 activists headed for Gaza. Instead of carrying their regular automatic rifles, the Israelis said they went in with non-lethal paintball guns and pistols they never expected to use.”
Paintball rifles … they were armed with Paintball rifles … Thank God for Krav Maga or those soldiers would have been massacred by that frothing and frenzied hoard.
You realize what the goal is right? Israel is not allowed to enter Gaza to fight the rockets, nor are they allowed to prevent the rockets from entering Gaza. They want an Israel that is totally paralyzed and demoralized. She has the greatest army in the region, but she may not use it. She has gone into battle with PAINTBALL GUNS. What does that tell you about the mental state they have been reduced to.
So much for the voracity of the theory that Israel ‘fired on the ship killing two BEFORE boarding’ … why the hell would they fire on the ship if they didn’t even take live ammo on-board the ship? Lunacy.
One thing is for sure. Israeli deterrence now lies in ruins. Their best soldiers rendered impotent “murderers” by a well-planned trap. The image of the Israeli superman is now a thing of the past, and nothing short of another Six day war victory will restore it.
