Muslims in the West Living under siege…

Oh, did I say Muslims?  I meant Jews.

Dutch police use ‘decoy Jews’ to stop anti-Semitic attacks

Dutch police are to use “decoy Jews”, by dressing law enforcers in Jewish religious dress such as skullcaps, in an effort to catch anti-Semitic attackers.

Lodewijk Asscher, Amsterdam’s mayor, has ordered the new decoy strategy to cut the number of verbal and physical attacks on Jews, amid fears that anti-Semitic “hate crime” is on the rise.

“Jews in at least six Amsterdam neighbourhoods often cannot cross the street wearing a skullcap without being insulted, spat at or even attacked,” according to local reports.

Amsterdam police already disguise officers as “decoy prostitutes, decoy gays and decoy grannies” in operations to deter street muggings and attacks on homosexuals or the city’s red light district.

Police in the Dutch city of Gouda have claimed the use of officers disguised as apparently frail old age pensioners has helped cut street crime.

“If we receive several reports of street robbery in a certain location, we send out the granny. That soon quietens things down,” said a spokesman.

Secret television recordings by the Jewish broadcasting company, Joodse Omroep, broadcast at the weekend, have shocked Amsterdam, a city which prides itself on liberalism and which is home to the Anne Frank museum.

The footage showed young men, often of immigrant origin, shouting and making Nazi salutes at a rabbi when he visited different areas of the Dutch capital.

You’ve got to watch out for those “young men”, and those “immigrants”.

The New Normal

Incremental change is the Sec Prog M.O. when it comes to the culture.  The reasons for this strategy are obvious– move too fast, and risk a devastating political backlash by an outraged populace.  There’s no need to rush it.  Their Culture-Media Complex isn’t going anywhere.  It will still be here long after Obama disappears from the scene, changing the very air we breathe.  Whether we be Libs or Cons, Dems or Repubs, the odorless fumes of progress work their mind altering magic on all of us.  The fringe slowly becomes the mainstream, and the never ending Prog agitation simply becomes the normal background static to our lives.  It no longer registers in the outrage meter.  And so it goes on, year after year, decade after decade– ever Leftward.  It becomes the new normal.

Obama embraces incremental response to gay agenda

WASHINGTON (AP) – President Barack Obama is chipping away at his long list of promises to gay voters but has yet to win the enthusiastic backing of the reliably Democratic voting bloc.

The Obama White House has accomplished more than any other on gay rights, yet has drawn sharp criticism from an unexpected constituency: the same gay activists who backed the president’s election campaign. Instead of the sweeping change gays and lesbians had sought, a piece-by-piece approach has been the administration’s favored strategy, drawing neither serious fire from conservatives nor lavish praise from activists.

Obama on Tuesday planned to tick through some of the accomplishments at a meeting with grass-roots gay activists at the White House. His administration planned to announce Wednesday that the Labor Department would order businesses to extend unpaid leave for gay workers to care for newborns or loved ones.

The move, coming less than five months before November’s congressional elections, seems likely to incite conservatives and Republicans who stood in lockstep against the Obama administration’s earlier efforts to repeal a ban on gays and lesbians serving openly in the military. It also appears likely to be popular with loyal Democrats and organized labor.

Just not with some gay activists, who long ago stopped giving Obama the benefit of a doubt.  “We still need laws passed that achieve what these minimal efforts attempt to do piecemeal,” said Lane Hudson, a gay activist who last year interrupted Bill Clinton as he defended his administration’s handling of gays and lesbians in the military.

“The little things that the Beltway crowd pays attention to – and the White House uses to say ‘We’re making so much progress’ – that doesn’t translate outside the Beltway,” Hudson said.  The White House boasts a long list of accomplishments to tout during meetings with gay and lesbian organizations, but their reach is limited.

For instance, Obama signed a hate crimes bill into law, expanded benefits for partners of State Department employees and ended the ban on HIV-positive persons from visiting the United States. He referenced families with “two fathers” in his Father’s Day proclamation last week and devoted 38 words of his State of the Union address to repealing “don’t ask, don’t tell,” the ban on gays serving openly in the military.

“There’ve been some mixed signals from his staff from time to time, but at the end of the day we’re on the path toward repeal,” said Aubrey Sarvis, the executive director of the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, which is trying to end the military ban.

“Initially, we saw the president and his team were a bit cautious and measured, I think in large part because they didn’t want to repeat the mistakes of the Clinton administration. That was understandable. But we’re long past that,” he said.

Obama’s campaign pledged to repeal “don’t ask, don’t tell,” yet that goal remains years away. His Justice Department invoked incest in a legal brief defending the traditional definition of marriage, prompting some gay donors last year to boycott the Democratic National Committee. And just last week, a committee at his Health and Human Services Department recommended the nation retain its policy barring gay men from donating blood.

“Two wars, a financial crisis, now an oil spill, plus a fundamental unwillingness to act boldly on gay rights, have rendered Obama agenda-less on this issue,” said Richard Socarides, who advised Clinton on gay policies.  Obama’s allies say the small-bore changes are the best activists can hope despite Democrats controlling the White House, the Senate and the House.

“The reason why these policy changes are important is because we do not have ironclad LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) majorities in either house of Congress,” said Fred Sainz, a vice president at the Human Rights Campaign, Washington’s largest gay rights organization.

“People wrongly assume that having Democratic majorities in Congress means that your legislative goals will be met. That’s not the case,” Sainz said.

It’s small consolation for gay rights activists.  “The people in the White House have to realize that issues of equality are not controversial,” Hudson said.  A Gallup poll last month found 70 percent of American favor allowing gays and lesbians to serve openly in the military. That same poll, however, included a reminder: 53 percent opposed legalizing gay marriage.

UN Screens Anti-Israel Flotilla Film, Israel Denied Response

There’s truth, and then there are FACTS, and rarely the twain shall meet.  Here a U.N. group won’t allow the facts to get in the way of their “truth”.

The United Nations Correspondents Association recently screened a film for foreign journalists that purported to show Israel attacking innocent activists. An Israeli request to show a second film that would put the events of the first in a more accurate light was originally granted, then denied at the last minute.

The screening was organized by the president of the Correspondents Association, Giampaolo Pioli, who invited correspondents to see an “Israeli attack on human rights activists.”

The film shown was shot by one of the passengers on a Gaza-bound flotilla that aimed to break Israel’s naval blockade of the Hamas-controlled region. Israeli commandos boarded the boats after they refused, when asked peacefully, to turn aside and dock in Ashdod. On one ship, the Mavi Marmara, soldiers were violently attacked by Turkish activists wielding knives and blunt instruments, leading to a clash in which nine passengers were killed and several passengers and soldiers were wounded.

The footage shows Israeli troops preparing to board the vessel, then switches to scenes in which passengers treat the wounded.

Mirit Cohen, spokeswoman for Israel’s UN delegation, asked to attend the event and show a film prepared by the IDF Spokesperson’s unit. The IDF has released a film showing members of the pro-terrorist Turkish group IHH on the Mavi Marmara attacking soldiers with metal clubs and throwing one soldier overboard; a second film shows the ship’s Chief Officer testifying that the violent attack on soldiers was premeditated.

The UN group originally accepted Cohen’s request and agreed to screen the Israeli film.  However, just two hours before the event was to begin, Pioli informed Cohen that he would be dropping the Israeli film. He offered to show Israel’s side of the story at a different time.

Israel distributed a complaint to foreign correspondents Thursday. “Offering UN media facilities to screen video produced by a one-sided activist while actively preventing a member state of the United Nations an opportunity to respond in real time is severely unethical,” Cohen wrote.

The decision to cancel the screening of the Israeli video with just two hours notice “raises grave doubts as to the reason behind this decision,” she added. Cohen demanded an official apology for the incident.

Tons of Bushmeat in Paris

Humanoid, it's what's for dinner.

PARIS — The traders sell an array of bushmeat: monkey carcasses, smoked anteater, even preserved porcupine.  But this isn’t a roadside market in Africa – it’s the heart of Paris, where a new study has found more than five tons of bushmeat slips through the city’s main airport each week.

Experts suspect similar amounts are arriving in other European hubs as well – an illegal trade that is raising concerns about diseases ranging from monkeypox to Ebola, and is another twist in the continent’s struggle to integrate a growing African immigrant population.

Madame Toukine, an African woman in her 50s, said she receives special deliveries of crocodile and other bushmeat each weekend at her green and yellow shop off the Rue des Poissonieres market. She wouldn’t give her full name for fear of being arrested.

“Everyone knows bushmeat is sold in the area and they even know where to buy it,” said Hassan Kaouti, a local butcher. “But they won’t say it’s illegal.”  For the study, European experts checked 29 Air France flights from Central and West Africa that landed at Paris’ Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport over a 17-day period in June 2008.

Of 134 people searched, nine had bushmeat and 83 had livestock or fish.  The people with bushmeat had the largest amounts: One passenger had 112 pounds (51 kilos) of bushmeat – and no other luggage. Most of the bushmeat was smoked and arrived as dried carcasses. Some animals were identifiable, though scientists boiled the remains of others and reassembled the skeletons to determine the species.

Experts found 11 types of bushmeat including monkeys, large rats, crocodiles, small antelopes and pangolins, or anteaters. Almost 40 percent were listed on the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species.  Based on what officials seized – 414 pounds (188 kilos) of bushmeat – the researchers estimated that about five tons of bushmeat gets into Paris each week.

A bushmeat ban is enforced in Kenya, but it is legal in most parts of the Republic of Congo, where hunters may stalk wildlife parks that aren’t heavily guarded. Even after several outbreaks of the deadly Ebola virus linked to eating bushmeat, the practice remains widespread.

“If you have intimate contact with a wild animal – and eating is pretty intimate contact – then you could be exposed to all kinds of diseases,” warned Malcolm Bennett, of Britain’s National Centre for Zoonosis Research at the University of Liverpool, who was not linked to the study.

Nina Marano, chief of the quarantine unit at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said similar underground markets for bushmeat exist across America. “We have to be culturally sensitive and recognize this is important for some African communities,” she said. “But there are no regulations for the preparation of meat from wildlife to render it safe.”

The scale of Europe’s illicit bushmeat trade suggests the emergence of a luxury market. Prices can be as high as $18 per pound (30 euros per kilo), double what more mundane supermarket meats cost.  “It’s like buying the best cut of organically grown beef,” Rowcliffe said, adding that bushmeat like giant rats and porcupine, which he has tasted, has a strong, gamey flavor.

Tastes like chicken!  If it’s not sharia law in our courts, it’s “bushmeat” on our streets.  Is this something we need to be “culturally sensitive” about?  Or should we instead encourage assimilation from our immigrants.  I like Africa.  I’ve spent some time there.  But I was under the impression Africans were eating monkeys and giant rats because they were forced to by poverty and hunger.  Now it turns out they’re paying top dollar for these dubious delicacies here in the land of plenty.  Do I smell a rat?  Or is that the foul stench of multiculturalism at work when in Paris it literally costs more coin to eat GIANT RAT than it does a tender and juicy filet mignon.  That culinary dissonance is only possible in the upside down world of modern Liberalism, gentle readers.  Listen, I do Third World culture as good as the next guy.  I have literally eaten things in some of those Third World hell holes that would make a billy goat puke.  And if Africans crave the succulent taste of rat every now and then, that’s cool.  I won’t judge.  That’s their culture.  And if they enjoy the gamey flesh of humanoids from time to time, that’s fine too– so long as they’re eating rats and monkeys IN AFRICA, not here. We don’t do rat in the West, at least not yet.  Is that too much to ask?

Caliphate U.S.A. Conference 2010

The radical Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir America (HTA) will host a conference in Chicago on July 11 to hype the virtues of an Islamic state ruled according to the strictest interpretation of Islamic law. The group launched an online social media campaign to promote the event; one that serves as a prime example of how extremists are able to expose the mainstream to their ideology.

HTA is part of a worldwide organization, Hizb ut-Tahrir (HT), which works towards the establishment of an Islamic state (Khalifah) in a Muslim country. Once a government and a military have been installed, it intends to spread Islam to the rest of the world. HT condones violence against Western troops in Muslim countries and advocates the eradication of Israel, but has so far maintained a non-violent approach to its objectives.

9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is a former HT adherent. He, like others, joined a militant organization after becoming impatient with HT’s softer methods, which is why some observers have labeled HT “a conveyor belt to terrorism.”

A component of HTA’s strategy is to instill a sense of alienation among American Muslims so that they will turn away from their country and instead identify themselves as members of the Ummah (worldwide Muslim community). HTA tells Muslims not to vote or to embrace the culture of the “unbelievers.” However, HTA will indulge in socializing online in order to generate support.

2010 Propaganda Campaign

On June 5, HTA launched its campaign to publicize the “Emerging World Order” conference with a video for YouTube. The video promises the “dawn of a new era” with “Khilafah on the horizon.” An intense musical score accompanies the graphics. Likely, the soundtrack was created from software, such as ProScores, which is specifically designed to engineer “hard-hitting” “tension-building” moments in promotional videos. Music has long-been valued as an effective element of political propaganda campaigns because it can instantly frame perceptions by triggering emotions.

Over the past year we have seen U.S. citizens radicalized to the point of committing acts of terrorism. While HT has not been tied to any of these cases, its objectives and ideology are consistent with many Islamist terrorist organizations. The group demonizes the U.S. and its allies, it seeks to make American Muslims feel disaffection towards their country, and it does not fully condemn acts of terrorism; rather, it places blame on the victim society for bringing violence upon itself.

How an extremist group reaches its audience is key to understanding how radicalization occurs. While HTA is spreading word about its conference, it is simultaneously exposing new audiences to its ideology and furthering its strategy to isolate American Muslims from the rest of society. Isolation and disaffection are first steps along the path to radicalization–the same path that may eventually lead to terrorism.

Besides being one of the greatest artists of his generation, what’s not to like about Elton John?

Elton John’s “Very Happy With Civil Unions”

“I don’t want to be married. I’m very happy with a civil partnership. If gay people want to get married, or get together, they should have a civil partnership. The word “marriage,” I think, puts a lot of people off. You get the same equal rights that we do when we have a civil partnership. Heterosexual people get married. We can have civil partnerships.” ~ Elton John

Elton John Slams Boycotting Artists at Israel Concert

Another week, another provocative concert by Elton John. Fresh off a gig as Rush Limbaugh’s wedding singer, the British icon performed Thursday in Tel Aviv, despite pressure from pro-Palestinian activists and fellow artists to boycott Israel following the flotilla debacle off the coast of Gaza.

“Shalom, we are so happy to be back here! Ain’t nothing gonna stop us from coming, baby,” John said with a fist in the air.  The piano man then took a swipe at those artists, including Elvis Costello, Santana, the Pixies and Devendra Banhart, who have bailed on concerts in recent weeks.

As for the concert, the Jerusalem Post said John “turned into a human jukebox for two-and-a-half hours,” mixing old and new favorites spanning his four decade career. Songs played included ‘Levon,’ Rocket Man’ and more obscure hits like ‘Mona Lisa and Mad Hatters’ and ‘Captain Fantastic.’

An estimated 50,000 fans crammed into Ramat Gan stadium in Tel Aviv.

“It betrays either ignorance or self-interest or both, and jeopardizes his admirable record on gay rights,” Aaron Hicklin, Editor-in-Chief of Out, told PopEater at the time.

Elton John is the wedding singer for Rush Limbaugh

Rush Limbaugh got married on Saturday night to Kathryn Rogers in Palm Beach, Fla., complete with 400 guests, no media, a high-flying shout-out from the folks at Gawker and music by Elton John.  Among the folks trading the worlds of politics and political commentary for the Ponce de Leon ballroom at the Breakers hotel: Karl Rove, Sean Hannity, Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, James Carville and Mary Matalin.

Elton has been slammed by some over saying yes to Rush’s offer — the civil-partnered gay man who reportedly kept the hotel staff hopping is said to have hauled in a million bucks for his night’s work at Limbaugh’s fourth such celebration of nuptials. But before you clutch your pearls in shock …

… over the whole affair, recall that John recently played in Morocco. He’s also shared a stage with and is a friend of Eminem, a rapper not exactly campaigning loudly for gay rights. Perhaps conservative and liberal streams can indeed cross without creating a rip in the space-time continuum — though further complicating the issue is the fact that the bride is a descendant of President John Adams, who was neither a Democrat nor a Republican, but a Federalist (not that that party helped one-term Adams much, what with Vice President Thomas Jefferson nipping at his heels and all).

According to Zev Chafets, author of a new book about the radio host, Limbaugh “regards homosexuality as, most probably, biologically determined, and while he opposes gay marriage as culturally subversive, he has no problem with gay civil unions — which is the stance of President Obama and Hillary Clinton.  He drinks adult beverages, smokes cigars, and is not exactly a shining example of family values.”

Rest in Peace, Sverige

Add this to the growing mountain of evidence that the West’s very survival is in doubt thanks to mass Islamic immigration and the Left’s psychopathic obsession with multiculturalism.

Somewhere in Arabia: forgotten Jewish remains

In 1936, during the Cable Street riots, the British Union of Fascists jeered at London Jews, “Go back to Palestine!”, “Palestine” being in those days the designation for the Jewish homeland. Last week, Helen Thomas, the doyenne of the White House press corps, jeered at today’s Jews, “Get the hell out of Palestine,” “Palestine” being now the designation for the land illegally occupied by the Jewish apartheid state. “Go home,” advised Miss Thomas, “to Poland and Germany.” Wherever a Jew is, whatever a Jew is, he should be something else somewhere else. And then he can be hated for that, too.

North Korea sinks a South Korean ship; hundreds of thousands of people die in the Sudan; millions die in the Congo. But 10 men die at the hands of Israeli commandos and it dominates the news day in, day out for weeks, with UN resolutions, international investigations, calls for boycotts, and every Western prime minister and foreign minister expected to rise in parliament and express the outrage of the international community.

Odd. But why?

Because Israel is supposed to be up for grabs in a way that the Congo, Sudan or even North Korea aren’t. Only the Jewish state attracts an intellectually respectable movement querying its very existence, and insisting that, after 62 years of independence, that issue is still not resolved. Let’s take a nation that came into existence at precisely the same time as the Zionist Entity, and involved far bloodier population displacements. I happen to think the creation of Pakistan was the greatest failure of postwar British imperial policy. But the fact is that Pakistan exists, and if I were to launch a movement of anti-Pakism it would get pretty short shrift, and in Canada a “human rights” complaint or three.

The “Palestinian question” is a land dispute, but not in the sense of a boundary-line argument between two Ontario farmers. Rather, it represents the coming together of two psychoses. Islam is a one-way street. Once you’re in the Dar al-Islam, that’s it; there’s no checkout desk. They take land, they hold it, forever.

That’s why, in his first post-9/11 message to the troops, Osama droned on about the fall of Andalusia: it’s been half a millennium, but he still hasn’t gotten over it, and so, a couple of years ago, when I was at the Pentagon being shown some of the maps found in al-Qaeda safe houses, “the new caliphate” had Spain and India being re-incorporated within the Muslim world. If that’s how you think, no wonder a tiny little sliver of a Jewish state smack dab in the heart of the Dar al-Islam drives you nuts: to accept Israel’s “right to exist” would be as unthinkable as accepting a re-Christianized Constantinople.

To this fierce Islamic imperialism, the new Europeans, post-Christian, post-nationalist and postmodern as they are, nevertheless bring one of their oldest prejudices—that in the modern world as much as in medieval Christendom Jews can never be accorded full property rights. On a patch of the Holy Land, they are certainly the current leaseholders, but they will never have recognized legal title. To be sure, there are a lot of them there right now. But then there were a lot of them in Tangiers and Baghdad and the Bukovina and Germany and Poland, for a while. Why shouldn’t Tel Aviv one day be just another city with some crumbling cemeteries and a few elderly Jews?

That’s the reason the “Palestinian question” is never settled. Because, as long as it’s unresolved, then Israel’s legitimacy is unsettled, too.Still, the impatience of the new globalized Judenhass is now palpable. I used to think that, when Iran got the bomb, it wouldn’t use it. I wouldn’t take that bet now. The new anti-Semitism is a Euro-Islamic fusion so universal, so irrational and so fevered that it’s foolish to assume any limits.

The Establishment Vibe

Below we have two sets of bloggers, Liberal vs conservative, arguing some point or another.  It isn’t terribly important what they happen to be arguing about, but rather how they argue.  Watch their dynamics.   From Ann Althouse.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Without getting into the substance of the debate here (or Ann Althouse’s over zealousness), notice how the young female Obama defender claims she’s “bored” with the conversation.  What she probably means is she finds the debate tiresome and exasperating.  Similarly, Matthew Yglesias’s heart isn’t really in it either as he falls back on the lazy tactic of personalizing the debate.  The merits, he believes, are hardly worth his effort.

Back in my Lib days, we never would have considered standing up for our views as “boring.”  On the contrary, we were eager to do battle.  Far from being exasperated by debate, we were hungry for it.  If our opponent didn’t have a leg to stand on, we pounced on that.  That was the whole point of the debate!  We didn’t pretend we were “bored” by it.  We lived for the merits!

I don’t see that hunger in Liberals today.  They’ve lost that edge.  Show up at a typical Liberal blog these days, and try posting a comment.  Chances are it goes straight to their pending approval box.  If it’s a particularly devastating one, it’s likely never to see the light of day.  The pending approval option speaks volumes about a blogger as far as I’m concerned.  It shows a lack of confidence in their worldview, or at the very least their ability to defend it.  They aren’t ready for all comers.  I get this vibe from Lib friends and family too.  They’re at a loss for words by the conservative push back.  They’re on the defensive, and it’s a role they aren’t used to.  It’s new to them.

Vexation, frustration, feigned “boredom”, etc., is how a comfortable status quo generally reacts to challengers.  It’s a pose assumed by those above the fray. It’s how the “silent majority” received the 60s counter culture– with that same exasperated eye roll we get these days from our Lib betters.

Today, the Liberal Establishment– safely ensconced behind the high walls of their institutions– doesn’t feel they should have to entertain any challenges to their ruling paradigm.  They fought long and hard to get where they are, don’t they get some time to kick back and enjoy the spoils?  Why should they dignify the mob with an intellectually rigorous response?  A candidate up in the polls, for example, doesn’t need to debate his lesser challenger.  He’s got nothing to gain, and everything to lose by it.  Spirited debates are for outsiders and wannabes.  That’s the vibe modern Liberalism exudes in this post-Christian, post-American, post-Western age– an Establishment vibe.

Conservatives, on the other hand, relish the field of intellectual combat because we are on the outside looking in. We are the new insurgents, hungry and primed for battle. We are the new counter culture.  We’ve got a long ways to go, but being a conservative today feels like it did being a Liberal 30-40 years ago– hungry.  And that’s the counter culture vibe.

The End of Europe

Mark Steyn says we’re screwed.

Egypt refuses to stop Iranian Blockade Runners

Cairo newspaper “A-Dar” reported Friday that Israel issued a request to Egypt to prevent aid ships from Iran reaching Gaza via the Suez Canal. Egyptian officials reported the request because “it contradicts the law.”

Egyptian authorities explained to the Cairo newspaper that Israel requested Egypt prevent any aid ships arriving from Iran passing through the Suez Canal claiming that Iran is aiding Hamas to work against Egypt.

The newspaper added that Egypt refused the Israeli demands because it is not possible to prevent the passage of any ship through the canal because of international laws. Egyptians explained that they are not able to stand against the intent of Arab states, the Muslim world and international organizations to provide aid to the residents of Gaza and to lift the blockade.

Sources at “A-Dar” reported that according to sources at the department for defending the interests of Iran in Cairo that Egypt approved the demands of hundreds of Iranians that will accompany the aid ships.

Hillary: White House will sue over Arizona law

If this is true, then the Obama administration is no longer even trying to hide it.  They aren’t merely indifferent to enforcing our borders, they are OPENLY HOSTILE TO IT.  And why shouldn’t they be?  Mexican immigrants are the future of the Democratic party, after all.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Poll: Most Americans support Arizona immigration law

A new Washington Post/ABC poll finds that 58 percent of Americans support Arizona’s tough new immigration law. Support is strongest among Republicans and independents, and least strong among Democrats, especially minority Democrats.

Still, the support is qualified in some respects. Even as a majority of Americans back the measure — which gives law enforcement officers authority to check the immigration status of people they have stopped or arrested — 57 percent of Americans also favor giving illegal immigrants who are already in the country a chance to become legal, if they pay fines and meet other requirements. Almost half of Republicans polled also support the path to citizenship for illegal immigrants.

In another result that rubs against the logic of the Arizona law, just 46 percent of respondents agree that states should be able to make their own border policies.

The poll also shows that many Americans do not approve of how President Obama is handling border issues. Fifty-one percent of respondents overall gave him negative ratings — with 56 percent of independents disapproving of his handling of immigration. Obama announced last month that he would send 1,200 National Guard members to the border to help train Border Patrol officers.

The poll has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Creeping Dhimmitude: Parisian Sausage & Wine Fete banned

Let’s imitate the French!  Here EuroLibs choose to dhimmify themselves before their future Muslim overlords.

PARIS (Reuters) – A giant “sausage and wine” party planned later this week in a Paris neighbourhood with many Muslim residents risks sparking disturbances and will therefore be banned, police in the French capital announced on Tuesday.

The event, announced on the social networking site Facebook late last month, had drawn growing criticism from politicians and civic groups in recent days as its page containing barely disguised anti-Muslim slogans attracted over 7,000 members.

The event, called an “apero geant” (giant cocktail party), was due on Friday, a date seen as highly provocative because that will be the day of the weekly Muslim prayer and the World Cup soccer match between England and majority Muslim Algeria.

It is also the 70th anniversary of General Charles de Gaulle’s famous 1940 “Appeal of June 18” from London calling on the French to resist the German occupation of their country.  “This open-air event creates serious risks of disturbances to public order,” the police said in a statement, noting the symbolism of the time and place chosen for the flash mob-style party. It also said counter-demonstrations were planned.

The main organiser, Sylvie Francois, wrote that she wanted the event to be “a joyous protest” against the closing down of roads in the Goutte d’Or neighbourhood every Friday by Muslims praying in the street outside the overcrowded mosque there.

The Facebook page also appeared to signal the party’s thrust with appeals to “native Parisians” and complaints about “the resolute foes of our local wines and pork products.”  In a statement before the ban was announced, Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoe said the party was “clearly inspired by extreme right-wing movements” and seemed to be “designed to degenerate, possibly into violence.”

Fadela Amara, secretary of state for urban policy and a practicing Muslim, denounced the planned event as a bid by the extreme right to spread hatred.  “I’m all for people getting together, having a drink and a good time, but when it’s organised like that … it’s very dangerous,” she told RTL radio.

After the ban was announced, supporters of the event wrote on the Facebook page that they would still gather on Friday in Goutte d’Or, a poor mixed-ethnic area of northeastern Paris.  “It’s official — Muslims can pray in the street but we don’t have the right to eat pork there. France is now ruled by sharia,” one supporter named Antoine wrote.

Note how easily European elites and law enforcement authorities come down on their own native European populace, but what kid gloves they extend to their Muslim immigrants.  European governments have no respect for their native populations, but they shudder in fear of Islam.  If the Eurolibs are this dhimmified now, what will they be like in 40-50 years when the Muslims register 50% of the population?  lol.  Good lord, I shudder to think.  I won’t be hear to see it all go down though, God willing.  But your kids and grandchildren will!  They will have the dubious privilege of seeing the West unravel right before their very eyes.

CNN: Obama speech too Smart for Stupid Electorate

The Lib Media has a narrative, and here’s how it works:  when Bush’s polls tanked, that was proof he was dumb, incompetent, out of touch, etc.  His unpopularity in the polls reflected positively on the American people who were depicted as rising above their simple-minded and innately boorish inner “Sarah Palin”.  Their anger at Republicans is always to the American people’s credit.  Fast forward to the present.  When Obama’s polls tank, the narrative suddenly changes, and this very same American public is now depicted as greedy, angry, etc., you get the picture.  A variation of this theme is the American public are stupid:

Language guru: Obama speech too ‘professorial’ for his target audience

(CNN)President Obama’s speech on the gulf oil disaster may have gone over the heads of many in his audience, according to an analysis of the 18-minute talk released Wednesday.

Tuesday night’s speech from the Oval Office of the White House was written to a 9.8 grade level, said Paul J.J. Payack, president of Global Language Monitor.  The Austin, Texas-based company analyzes and catalogues trends in word usage and word choice and their impact on culture.

Though the president used slightly less than four sentences per paragraph, his 19.8 words per sentence “added some difficulty for his target audience,” Payack said.

He singled out this sentence from Obama as unfortunate: “That is why just after the rig sank, I assembled a team of our nation’s best scientists and engineers to tackle this challenge — a team led by Dr. Steven Chu, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist and our nation’s secretary of energy.”

“A little less professorial, less academic and more ordinary,” Payack recommended. “That’s the type of phraseology that makes you (appear) aloof and out of touch.”

The monitor’s chief word analyst found these three sentences insensitive: “Already, this oil spill is the worst environmental disaster America has ever faced. And unlike an earthquake or a hurricane, it is not a single event that does its damage in a matter of minutes or days. The millions of gallons of oil that have spilled into the Gulf of Mexico are more like an epidemic, one that we will be fighting for months and even years.”

“You shouldn’t be saying that in Katrina land,” said Payack, referring to the 2005 hurricane that devastated the Gulf Coast. “New Orleans lost a third of its population; it’s still recovering.”

But he praised Obama’s phrase “oil began spewing” as active and graphic.

At a micro level, the average word in the speech contained 4.5 letters, a bit longer than is typical for the former constitutional law professor, Payack said.  Obama’s nearly 10th-grade-level rating was the highest of any of his major speeches and well above the Grade 7.4 of his 2008 “Yes, we can” victory speech, which many consider his best effort, Payack said.

“The scores indicate that this was not Obama at his best, especially when attempting to make an emotional connection to the American people,” he added.

The people of which this study presumes to speak aren’t the people who set aside an hour of their lives to listen to Presidents bloviate at length from the Oval Office about national concerns.  Sorry, they aren’t.  These Americans tend to be engaged citizens who are informed and care about the world around them.  But to elitists of the media, if President Obama’s speech was poorly received by his audience, it’s not because he gave a political speech about a problem the American people quite accurately perceive is a technical one.  No, it couldn’t possibly be that.  Rather, it’s because they’re stupid!  They don’t know English, and must be appealed to emotionally.

The truth is, when the American people sat down in front of their TVs that night, they wanted to hear the President talk about solving the oil spill, not a speech about Obama’s green agenda for the second half of his term.  Never let a serious crisis go to waste!  The American people just want the damn hole plugged, and the beaches and Gulf coast livelihoods protected, not speeches about energy taxes and windmills.  That’s it!  That’s all they wanted that night.  When instead of technical solutions to the problem at hand, they got infantilizing “green” speeches more suited to a presidential CAMPAIGN than to a national crisis, they rightly perceived the government was powerless in the face of this disaster, and was basically just WINGING it.  That is why his speech bombed, and that, as far as I’m concerned, reflects extremely well on the American people.

“Radical” Muslims Hurl Insults are returning troops

The demographers agree:  in 40-50 years, half of Europe will consists of guys like this:

A group of extremist Muslims prompted violent clashes at a homecoming parade for British troops today after they heckled soldiers and called them ‘murderers.’

Members of the Muslim Against the Crusade group clashed with far right protesters as they shouted ‘murderers, murderers, murderers’ and ‘British troops go to hell’ as members of the 1st Battalion the Royal Anglian Regiment paraded down the streets of Barking, Essex.

The chants were drowned out by a large mob on the opposite side of the street who retaliated with jeers of ‘Traitors’ to the Muslim protesters.  The hour-long parade had been delayed due to growing tensions between the two sides, with anti-Mac protestors singing God Save the Queen and drinkers at a nearby pub hurling frozen pork sausages at the Muslims.

Moments after the soldiers passed through tensions reached boiling point and the anti-Mac campaigners broke through the barricades, charged across the road and traded punches with the Muslim throng.  Police quickly separated the mob, with one man wrestled to the ground, handcuffed and led away while the police made a ring surrounding the Muslim group.

She said: ‘I’m here for the army and the British forces. The protesters are entitled to their opinion but they are taking it out on the wrong people. They should be taking it out on the Government.  ‘This is not the reception these boys and girls deserve. But it is democracy in action.’  Earlier the Muslim group was attacked by a barrage of eggs.

One member of the Mac group used a megaphone to shout: ‘This is a protest against parading in a Muslim area. We love death the way you love life.’  He branded British soldiers as ‘butchers’ and ‘despots’.

U.S. Cedes Territory to Mexico

The “reconquista” of the American Southwest begins in Arizona with the U.S. government telling its citizens to avoid several Arizona counties which serve as a smuggling corridor for dangerous Mexican drug runners.  The government isn’t rushing down there to enforce our sovereignty, no, rather they are telling Americans to get lost and essentially ceding the vast Federal parkland to it’s wrongful owner, Mexico.

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu: “Quite frankly I’m telling you as a sheriff that we don’t control that part of the county. My county is larger than the state of Connecticut and we need support from the federal government. It’s their job to secure the border and they haven’t done it. In fact President Obama suspended the construction of the fence.”

More at Fox News:

The closed off area stretches 80 miles along the border and includes part of the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge. It was closed in October 2006 “due to human safety concerns,” the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said Wednesday in response to news reports on the closure.

“The situation in this zone has reached a point where continued public use of the area is not prudent,” said refuge manager Mitch Ellis.

“It’s literally out of control,” said Babeu. “We stood with Senator McCain and literally demanded support for 3,000 soldiers to be deployed to Arizona to get this under control and finally secure our border with Mexico. “

U.S. Fish and Wildlife officials have warned visitors in Arizona to beware of heavily armed drug smugglers and human traffickers.
