NAACP President Was in Attendance at Sherrod’s Speech

Snookered?  Really?  When Breitbart released the Sherrod video on July 19th, NAACP President Ben Jealous released a statement denouncing not only the racist remarks by Shirley Sherrod but also the reaction of the crowd to her speech.  He said her actions were appalling and that the reaction from many NAACP members in attendance was disturbing.  He promised to personally look into the behavior of NAACP representatives at this local event and take appropriate action.  He sounded outraged, did he not?  The Obama Administration then forced her to resign.   Shortly thereafter, NAACP President, Ben Jealous claims they had been “snookered” into firing her by those pesky necons at Faux News.

There is one small problem with his version of events.  First, the White House fired Shirley Sherrod 5 hours before Fox News even aired the tape, 2)  the full unedited tape has always been in the possession of Ben Jealous and the NAACP, and 3)  it appears Ben Jealous himself was in attendance that day at Sherrod’s fateful speech.  At 00:45 seconds:

“To the President of the NAACP here, and the Board of Directors…”
