Cultural Marxism in the classrooms

The cultural marxists are on the move.  Let’s take a little peak inside their virulently anti-Christian sec prog minds, shall we?

Teacher penalizes students for saying “bless you”

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A Northern California teacher says he doesn’t want to hear a common courtesy in his classroom. He’s even lowering students’ grades if they say “bless you” after someone sneezes. Steve Cuckovich says the practice is disrespectful and disruptive. He’s banned saying “bless you” in his high school health class in Vacaville. He even knocked 25 points from one student’s grade for saying the phrase in class. Cuckovich says the policy has nothing to do with religion, but says the phrase is just a outdated practice and disrupts class time. “When you sneezed in the old days, they thought you were dispelling evil spirits out of your body,” Cuckovich said. “So they were saying, ‘God bless you’ for getting rid of evil spirits. But today, I said what you’re doing doesn’t really make any sense anymore.” After parents complained about students losing points for saying “bless you”, Cuckovich says he decided to stop the practice. However, the teacher says he will just find another way to discipline students for saying “bless you” in class.

Notice how the loon tries to explain his reasoning in order to justify himself in a “rational” way.  But none of it explains his own deeply visceral response about something so harmless and irrelevant.  That alone gives him away.

Some people say Liberalism is a mental disorder.  But it’s actually a religion, and all religions seem totally wack to outsiders looking in.  They hide their militantly secular religion behind a mantra of “separation of church and state”, but their deepest desire is to remove any mention, nay memory, of God from society altogether.  The examples are countless.

Incidents like these illustrate just how deeply the cultural marxists have infiltrated our institutions in their quest to gut our judeo-christian culture from the inside out.  Without going into any of the 1st amendment issues raised by this kind of PC run amuck, it further reveals just how interrelated the Gay Agenda (i.e., the normalization of homosexuality) is related to this war on Christianity and traditional values:

School Punishes Boy for Opposing Homosexuality

An honors student in Fort Worth, Texas, was sent to the principal’s office and punished for telling a classmate that he believes homosexuality is wrong.  Holly Pope said she was “absolutely stunned” when she received a telephone call from an assistant principal at Western Hills High School informing her that her son, Dakota Ary, had been sent to in-school suspension.  “Dakota is a very well-grounded 14-year-old,” she told Fox News Radio noting that her son is an honors student, plays on the football team and is active in his church youth group. “He’s been in church his whole life and he’s been taught to stand up for what he believes.”  And that’s what got him in trouble.

Dakota was in a German class at the high school when the conversation shifted to religion and homosexuality in Germany. At some point during the conversation, he turned to a friend and said that he was a Christian and “being a homosexual is wrong.”  “It wasn’t directed to anyone except my friend who was sitting behind me,” Dakota told Fox. “I guess [the teacher] heard me. He started yelling. He told me he was going to write me an infraction and send me to the office.”

Dakota was sentenced to one day in-school suspension – and two days of full suspension. His mother was flabbergasted, noting that her son had a spotless record, was an honor student, volunteered at his church and played on the school football team.  Officials at the high school did not return calls for comment. However, the Fort Worth Independent School District issued a statement that read:

Krause called the incident “mind blowing” and said the teacher had frequently brought homosexuality into ninth grade classroom discussions.  “There has been a history with this teacher in the class regarding homosexual topics,” Krause said. “The teacher had posted a picture of two men kissing on a wall that offended some of the students.”  Krause said the picture was posted on the teacher’s “world wall.”  “He told the students this is happening all over the world and you need to accept the fact that homosexuality is just part of our culture now,” Krause said.

Temporary marriages, Gay Liberation, and the “Patriarchy”

Until death do us part?

Yet more proof that everything the Left does advances the clock of civilizational collapse.  I only had to read the headline to instantly realize the Left’s fingerprints were all over this one.

Mexico mulls 2-year marriage

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) – Mexico City lawmakers want to help newlyweds avoid the hassle of divorce by giving them an easy exit strategy: temporary marriage licenses.  Leftists in the city’s assembly — who have already riled conservatives by legalizing gay marriage — proposed a reform to the civil code this week that would allow couples to decide on the length of their commitment, opting out of a lifetime.  The minimum marriage contract would be for two years and could be renewed if the couple stays happy. The contracts would include provisions on how children and property would be handled if the couple splits.  “The proposal is, when the two-year period is up, if the relationship is not stable or harmonious, the contract simply ends,” said Leonel Luna, the Mexico City assemblyman who co-authored the bill.

“You wouldn’t have to go through the tortuous process of divorce,” said Luna, from the leftist Party of the Democratic Revolution, which has the most seats in the 66-member chamber.  Luna says the proposed law is gaining support and he expects a vote by the end of this year.  Around half of Mexico City marriages end in divorce, usually in the first two years.  The bustling capital, one of the world’s largest cities, is much more liberal than the rest of the country, where the divorce rate is significantly lower although on the rise.

Abortion is legal in Mexico City, while the Supreme Court ruled this week to uphold state laws in Baja California that say life begins at conception.  Leftist Mayor Marcelo Ebrard, who angered the Catholic Church when he made Mexico City the first Latin American city to legalize gay marriage in late 2009, announced this month he would soon step down to run for president.  The church criticized the proposed change.  “This reform is absurd. It contradicts the nature of marriage,” said Hugo Valdemar, spokesman for the Mexican archdiocese. “It’s another one of these electoral theatrics the assembly tends to do that are irresponsible and immoral.”  The Church holds considerable sway in the country with the world’s second largest Catholic population after Brazil.

What "gay marriage" is ultimately about.

Hurray!  Divorce is even more hassle-free now.  So why are they doing this, you ask?  Because it promotes statism and the secular progressive value system.   This simultaneous promotion of gay marriage while undermining traditional marriage is all part of a larger plan in furtherance of their secular progressive utopia.  Leftism has always hated the institution of marriage as an instrument of oppression and the status quo.  They call it “the Patriarchy.”   Gay activist and atheist Martha C. Nussbaum puts it this way:

Gays and lesbians are a symbol, in much of the public imagination, for sex without reproduction, for the decoupling of marriage from commitment to raising a family in the traditional way, which has certainly been a male-dominated way. …The connection between recognition of gay unions and the erosion of traditional marriage is that if sex is thought to be available outside of the marriage bond, women will have fewer incentives to embark upon marriage and child rearing, and may not wish to do so if marriage continues to be a largely patriarchal and unequal institution.

Wow, that’s pretty blatant stuff.  You won’t often hear it so candidly put.  So it’s no coincidence that the same Mexican Leftists who legalized gay marriage in Mexico City are also behind this temporary idiocy.  And who suffers the consequences of these broken marriages of convenience in a country without a safety net such as Mexico?  Why, the children!  The children who then require the State to intervene as their surrogate daddy lest they end up on the streets and starve to death.  And if no such paternalistic state currently exists, why, then it shall be created!  See how they operate?  And now you know the ultimate reason why these Marxists are trying to destroy marriage and the “patriarchy.”

And of course, this is happening right under our noses but the dots aren’t being connected, so nobody even notices or cares.

UPDATE: Even the Huffington Post is now weighing in on this AWEMAZING idea!  And don’t neglect the comments section there which is always a pretty good barometer of just how far gone those people are.

Separation of Church and State: VA Cemetery bans “God”, “Jesus”

Unconstitutional tombstones at Houston VA cemetery.

VA Cemetery Accused of Censoring Religious Speech

Separation of church and state!  It’s right there in the Constitution, didn’t you know!  So glad the Libs are standing up to that Reichwing theocracy!

Local veterans and volunteer groups are accusing Department of Veterans Affairs officials of censoring religious speech — including banning the word “God” — at Houston National Cemetery.  In one example cited in documents filed this week in federal court, cemetery director Arleen Ocasio reportedly told volunteers with the National Memorial Ladies that they had to stop telling the families, “God bless you,” at funerals and that they had to remove the words “God bless” from condolence cards.

The new allegations of “religious hostility” by VA and cemetery officials follow on the heels of a controversy over a prayer in Jesus’ name by Pastor Scott Rainey at a Memorial Day service in the cemetery.  U.S. District Judge Lynn N. Hughes ruled May 26 that Ocasio couldn’t stop Rainey from using the words “Jesus Christ” in his invocation.  Attorneys with the nonprofit Liberty Institute, which represented Rainey, filed an amended complaint this week after allegedly finding other instances of religious discrimination by cemetery officials against members Veterans of Foreign Wars District 4, The American Legion Post 586, and the National Memorial Ladies, a volunteer group that attends funerals of fallen service members.

The complaint accuses VA of “a widespread and consistent practice of discriminating against private religious speech” at the cemetery.  Ocasio is on vacation and could not be reached for comment. Her assistant, Amanda Rhodes, said the cemetery had no comment.  According to court documents, Ocasio banned members of the groups from using certain religious words such as “God” or “Jesus,” censored the content of prayer, and forbade the use of religious messages in burial rituals unless the deceased’s family submitted the text to her for prior approval.  Court documents also describe the closure of the cemetery’s chapel after Ocasio’s appointment as director two years ago.

“The doors remain locked during Houston National Cemetery operating hours, the cross and the Bible have been removed, and the Chapel bells, which tolled at least twice a day, are now inoperative,” the complaint reads. “Director Ocasio only unlocks the Chapel doors when meetings or training sessions are held at the building. Furthermore it is no longer called a ‘chapel’ but a ‘meeting facility.'”

“It’s just unfair that somebody would ask us to take God out of our vocabulary,” said Cheryl Whitfield, founder of Houston National Memorial Ladies.  “I could’ve kept my mouth shut and let things happen, but when it comes to standing up for your belief in God and giving comfort to the families, I don’t want to regret not saying anything,” Whitfield said. “We all had to stand up for what we believe in.

Leftists are threatened by public displays of religion.  Unless of course someone invokes Allah, Mohammed, or the Mayan jaguar goddess Ixchel, then ain’t diversity just grand!

This is just the exception, you say?  Why should we care?  Because this isn’t the exception.  Militant secularism is, and has been, waging a not so subtle, and relentless war on Christianity for decades now.  If you haven’t noticed then you haven’t been paying attention.  Freedom FROM religion!  This has been modern Liberalism’s trajectory for going on 50 years, and it will only get worse.  Are you a Liberal christian?  Then choose your side.  Christianity or Liberalism.  You cannot serve two masters.

North Korea Threatens War on Christmas

The Norks hate Christmas trees too!  Remind you of somebody? lol

SOUTH Korea says a giant Christmas tree near the North Korean border will stay lit up till January 8 – a move likely to anger Pyongyang since the date marks the birthday of its heir apparent. The communist North sees the tree topped with a glowing cross as a provocative propaganda symbol.

The tree – a 29-metre metal tower strung with light bulbs – was lit up on Tuesday for the first time in seven years as marines stood guard against any cross-border attack on it.  The tree, atop a military-controlled hill near the tense land border, was due to be switched off on December 26.

”However, we have decided to keep it until early January 8, in consideration of requests from religious groups,” defence ministry spokesman Kim Min-Seok told a briefing.  ”At first, we planned to keep the lighting on only briefly because of (military) burdens but we had second thoughts as it may send a message of peace to the North.”

Libs Oust Baby Jesus From Christmas

War on Christmas?  What war on Christmas!  lol  But seriously, why do the Libs hate baby Jesus?  According to the Constitution, a nativity scene during Christmas violates  “separation of church and state”, while symbols of other religions merely affirm Leftist notions of multiculturalism in America.  At least that’s what they’d have us believe.  All it takes is ONE MALCONTENT to make a phone call for the Leftist PC police to jump into action.  You see, he was “offended” by the baby Jesus.  During Christmas!  Meanwhile, 72 percent of Americans are offended by anti-Christmas PC gone haywire, and nobody seems to give a rat’s @ss about that.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Christ is out of Christmas at the St. George Ferry Terminal.  In what Catholics see as political correctness run amok, the city Department of Transportation (DOT) has removed a Nativity scene from the terminal, with an agency spokesman saying that the display was not authorized to be there.

But a menorah, marking the celebration of Hanukkah, and a Christmas tree remain on display in the terminal.

Catholics said the move was a nightmare before Christmas.  “We take this as a tremendous affront,” said Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, a watchdog of religious and civil rights.  The controversy reflects church-and-state battles that erupt nationwide each Christmas over the placement of religious symbols in public spaces.

A caller to the Advance today complained about the removal of the Nativity scene, which depicts the newborn Christ in the manger.  The caller said that workers in the terminal told her the display was removed after someone complained to the city’s 311 hotline.

“Yes, Staten Island, there will still be Christmas trees and menorahs at the ferry terminals,” said Solomonow. “We find that Staten Islanders can agree that these holiday symbols enliven our terminals and will continue to [do so] throughout the holidays.”

Solomonow said the “DOT put up an inclusive display for the holiday season that was consistent both with traditions at the ferry terminal and also with legal precedent.”  A city source said that menorahs are not considered religious symbols, according to legal precedent.

But Donohue disagreed, and said that Nativity scenes should be allowed in the terminal if menorahs are.  “It’s like telling a Catholic that a crucifix is not religious,” he said. “These people have to get their lines straight.”  Donohue said that the league years ago won a legal challenge that allowed a Nativity scene to be placed in Penn Station where a menorah also was displayed.

Other public institutions here balance the religious and secular themes of the season.  At Borough Hall, for example, a Nativity scene, a menorah, a Christmas tree and a display for Kwanzaa share space next to each other in the lobby.

“They’re all religious symbols,” Borough President James P. Molinaro, a Catholic, said tonight as he prepared to host a Christmas-tree lighting ceremony at Borough Hall. “Remove them all, or remove none. My opinion? Leave them all there.”

Sacred Tree falls to Secular Progressive Vandalism

Sacred tree hacked by orcs.

‘Tis an omen.  A sign of the times.  Christendom isn’t dying, it is being murdered.  The secular progressive intelligentsia are taking their hatchets to it as surely as vandals did to this sacred tree.

‘Vandals hack 2,000-year-old Holy Thorn Tree of Glastonbury is cut down

Vandals have destroyed one of the most celebrated Christian pilgrimage sites in Britain and chopped down a tree said to have sprouted from the staff of Joseph of Arimathea 2,000 years ago.  The Holy Thorn Tree of Glastonbury, Somerset, is visited by thousands every year to pay homage and leave tokens of worship. Those visiting today were moved to tears on finding the tree cut to a stump.

The sacred tree is unique in that it blossoms twice a year – at Christmas and Easter – and sprigs taken from the thorn are sent to The Queen each year for the festive table.  Avon and Somerset Police have launched an investigation after locals found that vandals had hacked off the branches of the iconic tree. They were dumped next to the trunk which is protected by a metal cage.

Locals wept openly today at the foot of the tree, on the town’s Wearyall Hill opposite its world-famous Tor as they struggled to contain their emotion.  Katherine Gorbing, curator of Glastonbury Abbey, said: ‘The mindless vandals who have hacked down this tree have struck at the heart of Christianity.

‘It holds a very special significance all over the world and thousands follow in the footsteps of Joseph Arimathea, coming especially to see it.  ‘It is the most significant of all the trees planted here and can be linked back to the origins of Christianity.  ‘When I arrived at the Abbey this morning you could look over to the hill and see it was not there.  ‘It’s a great shock to everyone in Glastonbury – the landscape of the town has changed overnight.’  Glastonbury Mayor John Coles rushed to the tree site after he heard the news.

Mr Coles, 66, said: ‘I’m stood on Wearyall Hill looking at a sad, sad, sight. The tree has been chopped down – someone has taken a saw to it.  ‘Some of the main trunk is there but the branches have been sawn away. I am absolutely lost for words – I just do not know why people would want to do this.  ‘This tree was visited by thousands of people each year and is one of the most important Christian sites. It is known all over the world.’  Deputy Mayor William Knight, 63, added: ‘This is absolutely mindless. We are all devastated.’

The Multicultis Who Stole Christmas

Crews remove "Christmas" from Dilworth Plaza.

War on Christmas?  What war on Christmas!  Isn’t that what Libs always start saying about this time of the year?  In most cases, multi means many or various.  But Lefty PC cannot abide Judeo-Christian.  Which is why “multiculturalism”  has generally come to mean no culture at all. At least when it comes to the Christian holidays.  Just as Stalin disappeared Trotsky, modern Liberals disappear culture– all in the name of, you guessed it, multiculturalism!

Let’s call it the German ‘Holiday’ Village

It’s that season again, which means that for the third year in a row, the German Christmas Village has set up a cozy collection of wooden booths and tree vendors in Dilworth Plaza on the west side of City Hall.  But a few shoppers noticed something amiss yesterday on the tall metal archways signaling the entrances to the shops. The archways had just one word on top – “Village.”

Sounds festive, eh?

It turns out that the letters spelling “Christmas” were removed yesterday afternoon from the archways on the north and west sides of the plaza, at the request of Managing Director Richard Negrin. They will be replaced with the word “Holiday.”

City spokesman Mark McDonald said Negrin asked for the change after the city received complaints from workers and residents.  “As a city of great diversity, one shouldn’t be surprised that there’s a difference of views when it comes to symbols and words,” McDonald said.

Thomas Bauer, of the German American Marketing Inc., which runs the Village, said he was happy to change the sign. He said the brochures and the posters would keep the Christmas Village title.  “People have to go to public buildings. They shouldn’t feel offended,” Bauer said, stressing that the name was not intended to upset anyone. “It’s been very successful the last two years. People like the name. We built it like a German Christmas market. We did not think a lot about it.”

With Nat King Cole music blasting through loudspeakers, and evergreen trees at every turn, the village is clearly focused on Dec. 25. But the ornaments and decorations for sale are largely of the secular variety, like elves, Santas and colored balls.

Separation of church and society!  Is this what you signed up for when you jumped on the multi-culti bandwagon, gentle readers?  So who exactly are these people who are so offended by Christmas?  Why,  WHITE LIBERALS, that’s who!  Nobody else.  Of course, they are offended on behalf of all those other non-Christian, non-Western people who should be offended but generally aren’t!  lol  Chalk it up to NeoTolerance. Philly spokesperson Mark McDonald says they removed ‘Christmas’ from the sign because of the hue and cry from city residents.  All six or seven of them:

Pope blasts Spain’s “aggressive” anti-church ways

Hey, the socialists and the sec progs are in charge over there.  What else did you expect.

SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA, Spain (AP) – Pope Benedict XVI criticized an “aggressive” anti-church sentiment that he said is flourishing in Spain as he arrived Saturday on a two-day visit to rekindle faith in a key Roman Catholic nation.  Benedict said the anti-clericalism being felt today in Spain harks back to the 1930’s, when the church suffered a wave of violence and ill feeling as the country lurched from an unstable democracy to civil war.

Speaking Saturday to journalists en route to Santiago de Compostela, Benedict said he had created a new Vatican office to fight such secular trends worldwide. He said Spain was a particular focus since it had played such an important role in reviving Christianity in centuries past.  “In Spain, a strong, aggressive laicity, an anti-clericalism, a secularization has been born as we experienced in the 1930’s,” Benedict said. “For the future of the faith, it is this meeting – not a confrontation but a meeting – between faith and laicity, which has a central point in Spanish culture.”

“A Spain and Europe concerned not only with people’s material needs but also with their moral and social, spiritual and religious needs, since all these are genuine requirements of our common humanity,” he said in Spanish.  The Pontiff wraps his trip up on the other side of the country in Barcelona, where he will dedicate the famous albeit unfinished Sagrada Familia church.

There, he’ll also face a “kiss-in” staged by gays and lesbians expected to number in the thousands, evidence of the secular lifestyle that Benedict has identified as a threat to the faith.

With such palpable opposition to the pope, it’s no surprise that Spain’s Socialist Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero will only see Benedict as he’s leaving on Sunday night. Laws under Zapatero’s watch have allowed gay marriage, fast-track divorce and easier abortions, deeply angering the Vatican.  In Zapatero’s place, Spain’s royal family is taking care of the protocol during the pope’s visit. Crown Prince Filipe greeted Benedict at Santiago’s airport Saturday and welcomed him to the country.

Who’s Afraid of Mohammed

Leftist slip showing: Maher afraid of Islam

Is Bill Maher’s show still called “Politically Incorrect?”  (Or was that his previous one)  Because I can’t say I’ve ever heard him say anything particularly un-PC until now.  Here he pulls a “Juan Williams”  and finally says something that’s, you know, politically incorrect (as opposed to his usual atheism and Christianity-bashing, which couldn’t be more mainstream and socially acceptable in this day and age).

Those who accuse the once libertarian Bill Maher of becoming too much of a liberal apologist might want to clean their ears. Maher made a Juan Williams-esque confession on his program when he apprehensively noted that Mohammed has just become the most popular baby name in Britain. “Am I a racist to feel alarmed by that?” Maher asked his panel. “Because I am. And it’s not because of the race, it’s because of the religion. I don’t have to apologize, do I, for not wanting the Western world to be taken over by Islam in 300 years?”

Notice he makes the distinction between race and religion, giving himself the benefit of the doubt he’d never grant to somebody on the Right.  But poor fellow, he thinks it’ll take Islam 300 years.  lol.  If only…

His normally boisterous crowd fell silent as the panel responded to Maher’s admission.

“If you’re with NPR,” the conservative Margaret Hoover chimed, “You’d be fired.”

“It’s worse,” Lawrence O’Donnell told Maher. “It’s way worse than what Juan Williams said.” Hoover seemed to agree with this sentiment.

Reihan Salam, a conservative analyst with a Muslim name, also seemed irked by Maher’s comments, noting that he “has some uncles named Mohammed” that are “pretty decent guys.”

Of course, it’s not the name that Maher fears, but the religion. (Any of them, in fact — Maher’s qualms with religion of any sort, Islam or not, are long-standing and well-documented.) Hoover further stoked Maher by claiming that the U.K is saddled with a “far bigger problem” than baby names: Sharia Law, which she said is creeping into England.

“Then I’m right,” Maher said, taking her for her word. “I should be alarmed. And I don’t apologize for it.”

Wonderful!  Reihan Salam knows a dude whose sisters-in-law are married to some Muslims who are pretty decent guys.  Well, that settles it!  Islamize away then!  The classic red herring non-sequitor, reducing the argument to individuals instead of culture, and then imputing to the general from the specific.  Who buys this kind of crap?  It’s not about “Muslims”, Mr. Salam, it’s about ISLAM.  And I don’t apologize for it.

The New Tolerance: Highway Crosses are unconstitutional

Separation of Church and society

From one side of their mouth Libs invoke platitudes about “freedom of religion” when it comes to the Ground Zero mosque (even though nobody is denying Muslims the right to build it there), and from the other side they deny you those very same religious freedoms.  These are the people lecturing us about tolerance and reconciliation.

Washington (CNN)Memorial crosses erected along Utah public roads to honor fallen state highway troopers have been found unconstitutional by a federal appeals court.  A three-judge panel of the 10th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruled Wednesday that the 14 large crosses would be viewed by most passing motorists as “government’s endorsement of Christianity.”

“We hold that these memorials have the impermissible effect of conveying to the reasonable observer the message that the state prefers or otherwise endorses a certain religion,” concluded the Denver, Colorado-based court. The state of Utah and a private trooper association have the option of appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court.

A Texas-based group, American Atheists, successfully sued five years ago to have the nonprofit memorial project scrapped, and the crosses removed from public property.  At issue was whether the crosses violated the Establishment Clause of the Constitution, by having the government endorsing the Christian symbols, even if indirectly.

The Utah Highway Patrol Association in 1998 began erecting the monuments, which contain the fallen trooper’s name, rank, and badge number. A picture of the officer and some biographical information is included on a separate plaque placed where the two bars of the cross meet. The state insignia is also included, which the judges in particular raised with constitutional concerns.

The service group said their main message was not religious in nature, but among other things, to serve as “a lasting reminder to UHPA members and Utah highway patrol troopers that a fellow trooper gave his life in service to this state” and to “encourage safe conduct on the highways.”

While placed on public land and with the state’s permission, the crosses themselves are privately owned and maintained. The state expressly noted it “neither approves or disapproves of the memorial marker.”

Richard Dawkins: Christianity is a bulwark against Islam

The Leftist/Islamic convergence to destroy the West as we know it takes a short break here as Richard Dawkins, the militant atheist who makes a living slandering religion (especially Christianity) as essentially the root of all evil, comes to a stunningly nuanced realization.

Richard Dawkins, author of The God Delusion, said: “There are no Christians, as far as I know, blowing up buildings. I am not aware of any Christian suicide bombers. I am not aware of any major Christian denomination that believes the penalty for apostasy is death. I have mixed feelings about the decline of Christianity, in so far as Christianity might be a bulwark against something worse.”

With Christianity on its last legs in Europe, Dawkins is coming to realize that Islam has no intention of joining the Left’s multi-culti coalition as junior partner.  The Left uses Islam as just another tool in their multicultural quest to “divide and rule” over a de-christianized Western society because they believe Islam can be controlled with the promise of a few bennies, just as they do all their other little ethnic pets.  But they are severely mistaken if they think for one second that Islam can be so easily seduced.  Or perhaps the Left believes when the time is ripe they can isolate and destroy Islam just as they did Christianity.  What a rude awakening they are in for when they realize the dragon they have been riding has no such intentions of going quietly into the night as did Christianity.

Angry Lefty: Bible for child-like Audience

This is the kind of crap I had to put up with my entire life as a Lib for the sake of Leftwing comity and cocktail parties, and I finally just got fed up with it.  Most of you Lib Christians out there would rather make nice with anti-God, anti-Bible Leftists like Jeanine Garafalo than with those wacky evangelicals.  The reason you do is because Liberalism has become your true religion, and you’d rather protect your true religion from evangelicals than you would protect your vestigial religion– christianity– from the atheistic Left.  You are traitors and collaborators against the very faith you claim to profess.

Jesus at Comedy Central … really

In yet another outlandish display of transparency Comedy Central –fresh off of their Mohammed in a Bear suit censorship– has announced they are moving forward with a TV show about Jesus of Nazareth.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – It’s not on the air yet. It’s not shot yet. There’s no pilot yet. There might not even be a script yet.

But Comedy Central’s plan to develop an animated project about Jesus Christ has the biggest names in the TV watchdog business forming a protest supergroup to preemptively smite the show.

Brent Bozell (president, Media Research Centre), Tony Perkins (president, Family Research Council), Michael Medved (talk radio host), Bill Donohue (president, Catholic League), Rabbi Daniel Lapin (American Alliance of Jews and Christians) and Tim Winter (president, Parents Television Council) are joining forces to form the Coalition Against Religious Bigotry.

Comedy Central’s “JC” is in development, which means it’s still a couple of steps from getting the green light as a series. The project is about Jesus trying to live as a regular guy in New York City and wanting to escape the shadow of his “powerful but apathetic father.” Because Comedy Central recently censored “South Park” for its portrayals of the Prophet Muhammad, some Christian leaders see the prospect of a Jesus cartoon as proof of an offensive double standard.

‘Some’? ‘Some Christian leaders’? What kind of language gymnastics is this guy performing here? How about: “we should see the prospect of a Jesus cartoon …”

CARB will hold its first press conference on Thursday to urge advertisers not to support the project, should it ever hit the air.

“After we reveal the vile and offensive nature of Comedy Central’s previous characterizations of Jesus Chris and God the Father, we expect these advertisers to agree wholeheartedly to end their advertising on Comedy Central and discontinue their support for unabashed, anti-Christian discrimination,” Bozell said in a statement. “Why should they be supporting a business that makes a habit of attacking Christianity and yet has a formal policy to censor anything considered offensive to followers of Islam? This double standard is pure bigotry, one from which advertisers should quickly shy away.”

Oh, but this is just some ‘crazy’ and oppresive Chrsistian leader … now I get why the writer qualified the source of contempt.

Comedy Central had no comment.

Conservative Pushback in Texas

The conservative counterculture pushes back in this MSM piece, which predictably is dripping with Liberal bias.  Note, for example, that Republicans outnumber Democrats 10-5 on the Texas Board of Education, yet here Democrats are quoted over their Republican counterparts by a margin of  7-3.  That’s just a heads up.

AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas State Board of Education adopted a social studies and history curriculum Friday that amends or waters down the teaching of religious freedoms, [because the Sec Progs are so worried about your “religious freedoms” (plenty of sarcasm there)] America’s relationship with the U.N. and hundreds of other items.  The new standards were adopted after a final showdown by two 9-5 votes along party lines, after Democrats’ and moderate Republicans’ efforts to delay a final vote failed.

In one of the most significant curriculum changes, the board dilutes the rationale for the separation of church and state in a high school government class, noting that the words were not in the Constitution and requiring students to compare and contrast the judicial language with the First Amendment’s wording. [In other words, teaching the FACTS.  The Left generally considers any kind of strict constructionism a “watering down” of their agenda.  The Constitution must “live and breath”; which makes the text– any text– virtually meaningless.  It’s how you end up with constitutional abominations like Roe v. Wade, or with biblical abominations like gay priests]

The standards, which one Democrat called a “travesty,” also will be used by textbook publishers who often develop materials for other states based on guidelines approved in Texas, although teachers in the Lone Star state have latitude in deciding how to teach the material.

The board attempted to make more than 200 amendments this week alone, reshaping draft standards that had been prepared over the last year and a half by expert groups of [Leftwing] teachers and professors.  As new amendments were being presented just moments before the vote, Democrats bristled that the changes had not been vetted.

“I think we’re doing an injustice to the children of this state by piecemealing together, cutting and pasting, coming up with new amendments as late as today,” said Mary Helen Berlanga, a Democrat. “What we have done today and what we did yesterday is something that a [Leftwing] classroom teacher would not even have accepted.”

During the monthslong revision process, conservatives strengthened requirements on teaching the Judeo-Christian influences of the nation’s Founding Fathers and required that the U.S. government be referred to as a “constitutional republic,” rather than “democratic.” Students will be required to study the decline in the value of the U.S. dollar, including the abandonment of the gold standard.

They also rejected language to modernize the classification of historic periods to B.C.E. and C.E. from the traditional B.C. and A.D., and agreed to replace Thomas Jefferson as an example of an influential political philosopher in a world history class. [He was returned to AMERICAN history class, where he belongs, here]They also required students to evaluate efforts by global organizations such as the United Nations to undermine U.S. sovereignty.

Former board chairman Don McLeroy, one of the board’s most outspoken conservatives said the Texas history curriculum has been unfairly skewed to the left after years of Democrats controlling the board and he just wants to bring it back into balance.

“I’m proud to have my name on this document,” Republican board member Barbara Cargill said shortly before the vote.  Another Republican board member, David Bradley, said the curriculum revision process has always been political — but this time, the ruling faction had changed since the last time social studies standards were adopted.

“We took our licks, we got outvoted,” he said referring to the debate from 10 years earlier. “Now it’s 10-5 in the other direction … we’re an elected body, this is a political process. Outside that, go find yourself a benevolent dictator.”

GOP board member Geraldine Miller was absent during the votes.  [Leftwing] Educators have blasted the curriculum proposals for politicizing education. Teachers also have said the document is too long and will force students to memorize lists of names rather than thinking critically.  The curriculum dispute contributed to McLeroy’s defeat in the March state Republican primary.

Education Secretary Arne Duncan said school officials “should keep politics out” of curriculum debates [Where were you about 40 years ago when the politicization of our public schools began in earnest?  Too late for that now, I’m afraid].  “We do a disservice to children when we shield them from the truth, just because some people think it is painful or doesn’t fit with their particular views,” Duncan said in a statement. “Parents should be very wary of politicians designing curriculum.”

After the vote, the American Civil Liberties Union [hehe!  Like clockwork] of Texas urged the state Legislature to place more control over the board.  “At the end of three long days, the State Board of Education has amended, re-amended and approved curriculum standards that are more ideological than ever, despite pleas to not politicize what is taught to Texas school children,” said the state ACLU’s executive director, Terri Burke.

“They have ignored [Leftwing] historians and teachers, allowing ideological activists to push the culture war further into our classrooms,” said Rep. Mike Villareal, a San Antonio Democrat. “They fail to understand that we don’t want liberal textbooks or conservative textbooks. We want excellent textbooks, written by [Leftwing] historians instead of activists.”

Texas’ new curriculum isn’t an effort by the “American Taliban” to create some christian theocracy– unless of course you believe America was a theocracy before the 60s counter culture wrecked the place in their zeal to destroy everything and anything even remotely connected to “the Man.”  If so, then yeah, we’re creating a “theocracy.”  Call it whatever you want, you filthy hippies.  The conversation is over.  We aren’t here to talk, we’re here to clean your clocks.

Note the insinuation in the first paragraph of the article that the new curriculum “waters down the teaching of religious freedoms” just because students would be asked to think critically about Jefferson’s “separation of church and state” vs the Constitution’s Establishment Clause.  As if that’s what the Left’s concern is– our religious freedoms.  The fact is, “religious” freedoms is the last thing on their minds.  They are a militantly secular cultural Establishment, and what they are concerned about is that Texas students might start to think critically, just as any Establishments is. Well, I have bad news for the militant secularists, Thomas Jefferson was only one of many voices who shaped our defining document. And his language didn’t make the final cut. It’s not in the Constitution.

Nor are they terribly interested in Jefferson himself. (When have you heard a Liberal invoke Jefferson’s “yeoman farmer”? You won’t).  Their hysterics about him being pulled from the Texas curriculum are not only a lie (because he wasn’t pulled), but also entirely self-serving.  The only thing they’re worried about is that phrase—separation of church and state—which isn’t even in the Constitution, but in a personal letter to friend.  That’s what this is all about.  The Sec Progs hang their entire anti-christian agenda on that extra-constitutional phrase.  That’s what they’re running around with their hair on fire about—kids being asked to compare and contrast that phrase with the actual text of the Establishment clause.  You see, the actual text of the Constitution doesn’t say what they wished it said.  So they raise the extra-constitutional writings of Jefferson to equal status with the Constitution (a de facto amendment to the Constitution without having to bother with all the messy de jure complications) and then push it to secularist limits never envisioned by the Founding Fathers.  Jefferson’s extra-constitutional “separation of church and state” is how the Left justifies hounding Christianity into the closet—and disgustingly, they do it in the name of “religious freedoms”.  So the next time the ACLU drags you into court, remember to thank them for protecting your “religious freedoms.”

These changes to the Texas school curriculum are a small, but long overdue pushback against the cultural marxism of the New Left which for decades has run rampant and unchecked in our culture, seeking not a separation of church and state, but a complete elimination of our judeo-christian heritage from the public sphere, and indeed, even from the historical record (You may have heard from your teachers and professors that the Founding Fathers were “deists”, but careful, teaching students the Founding Fathers were christians could violate “separation of church and state”).  That’s because militant secularism has taken the First Amendment’s constitutional limit on the “establishment” of a state religion, and warped it into a government imperative to stamp out all natural and organic expression of religion, faith, and tradition wherever they can be found (especially if it’s christian), whether it be on “government property”, or at the shopping mall, or the movie theater– all in the name of “separation of church and state”, or “protecting your religious freedoms” (so Orwellian, isn’t it?), and last but not least– diversity!  Always diversity!  And if their Orwellian vision of the future guarantees “religious freedoms”, it only does so if that religion stays locked away in the closet.  As if Christianity were the “new gay” in the very country founded and built by Christians.

This is the bleak vision of an America under the yoke of Secular Progressivism–  a once great judeo-christian culture rendered a sterile, soulless, Hollywood-driven, secularized husk where nobody is “offended” because nobody dares open their mouth lest you be dragged off to court for violating the Left’s “living, breathing” Constitution.  Unless of course the object is to offend christians– then by all means, open your mouth and offend away.

Texas has also watched for decades as American ideal of Epluribus Unum— from the many ONE– was replaced by the Left’s multicultural agenda to keep Americans divided along racial and ethnic lines, and to keep as many of them out of the Mainstream as possible– because once someone joins the Mainstream, the Left loses another “victim” to whom they can offer Salvation.  And what exactly do we mean by “mainstream”, you ask?  Is this rightwing code for fascism, perhaps?  “Mainstream” means simply the “melting pot,” and assimilation.  Multiculturalism is therefore the antithesis of assimilation.  For about three decades now we have witnessed the evolution of the Left’s multicultural agenda, where the traditional American “melting pot” was scrapped in favor of their multicultural “salad bowl” experiment– a cultural salad bowl where your identity as an individual is subsumed into a tribal collective based on race and ethnicity, not an American ethic based on values, ideas, or a philosophy; and thereby dividing racial/ethnic minorities from their fellow Americans in “the mainstream” melting pot because their skin color and cultural ethnicity precludes them from ever being fully American.  Which is ironic, because this type of segregation is obstensibly what MLK and the civil rights movement were fighting to do away with.  Now the Left fights for the multiculti right to be separate and apart. You know, separate but equal.

This is the Left’s infamous “fractured coalition” of disparate and competing racial/ethnic/special interest factions.  It is a far cry from the Enlightenment ideal of men and women who define themselves by their values, beliefs, and ideas, with loyalty to their nation state, not their tribe.  The Left’s fractured coalition is merely the fruits of this primitivism  based on skin color and tribe, and the narrow interests these engender.  This dysfunctional, multiculti coalition is fractured precisely because their interests are tribal and narrow, not genuinely civic-minded and broad.  This makes them nearly impossible to govern, as any successful Democratic president must govern from the center, i.e., the mainstream.  The Left’s multiculti tribalism is the polar opposite of JFK’s call to national selflessness (“…what you can do for your country.”) because the narrow interests of the tribe always trumps nation.  Cultural diversity, you see, is not strength– no matter how loudly the multicultis shout it from the rooftops.  It is weakness.  The Founding Fathers, recall, warned us that united we stand, divided we fall.  So who are you going to believe?  The Founding Fathers, or the multiculti gramciists of the Left?

These cultural marxists aren’t the Liberals of our youth in whom we naively placed our trust.  I doubt MLK or JFK would even recognize them.  Heck, the most staunch Republican I know has more in common with JFK than these Secular Prog body-snatchers do, these shape-shifting golem who invoke Jefferson’s “separation of church and state” in one breath, and vilify him as a white, male, slave-owning rapist in the next, depending on who happens to be in the room listening to them.  The same ideological shape-shifters who mock simple patriotism and love of country behind closed doors, and denounce you for questioning their patriotism when in public.  Well, we are finally onto them, and nothing illustrates this awakening better than what’s going on today in Arizona— and now here in Texas as well.  And this is just the beginning.  In Texas and Arizona, American conservatism begins it’s long march through our institutions to wrest them back from the cultural marxists of the Left who stole them from us.

TX School Board: Thomas Jefferson Stays

Mark Twain said a lie travels half way around the world before the truth gets its pants on.  The Texas Board of Education responds to the Lib Media’s false accusation that Thomas Jefferson has been struck from the Texas curriculum.  The original misinformation can be traced to militant atheist advocacy group Texas Freedom Network, which accused the Board of erasing Jefferson to further a larger theocratic agenda, even as they fight tooth and nail to impose their own atheistic Leftwing ideology on the curriculum.  In Texas?  Good luck with that.  They were utterly crushed and defeated, so slander and lies was all that was left to them.  But it’s an accusation the Lib media naturally ran with before fact-checking it with the Texas school board itself.  This warped narrative spread like a wildfire across the country overnight thanks to the usual suspects, and is now generally accepted as true.

Thomas Jefferson remains in social studies curriculum

After hours of public testimony and more than 100 amendments offered to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for social studies, the State Board of Education last week gave preliminary approval to the curriculum standards that will be used in Texas public schools.

One amendment in particular has garnered a lot of attention, after some media outlets erroneously reported the State Board of Education was dropping Thomas Jefferson from the curriculum framework.

“The only individual mentioned more times in the curriculum standards than Thomas Jefferson is George Washington,” said Gail Lowe, chairwoman of the 15-member board. “We expect students at the elementary level, in middle school and in high school to study the Founding Fathers and to be well versed in their contributions to our country. That includes Thomas Jefferson and his legacy,” she said.

In fifth grade, designed as an introductory survey course of the United States from 1565 to the present, students are expected to “identify the Founding Fathers and Patriot heroes, including John Adams, Samuel Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Nathan Hale, Thomas Jefferson, the Sons of Liberty, and George Washington, and their motivations and contributions during the revolutionary period.”

In the eighth grade, in which the history of the United States from the early colonial period through Reconstruction is presented, the TEKS framework requires students to “explain the roles played by significant individuals during the American Revolution, including Abigail Adams, John Adams, Wentworth Cheswell, Samuel Adams, Mercy Otis Warren, James Armistead, Benjamin Franklin, Bernardo de Galvez, Crispus Attucks, King George III, Haym Salomon, Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, the Marquis de Lafayette, Thomas Paine and George Washington.”

The U.S. Government course required for high school graduation states that students will “identify the contributions of the political philosophies of the Founding Fathers, including John Adams, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, John Jay, James Madison, George Mason, Roger Sherman and James Wilson on the development of the U.S. government.”

In addition, students must “identify significant individuals in the field of government and politics, including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Marshall, Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, and Ronald Reagan.”

Although Jefferson had been listed in a World History standard, the board removed his name from a list of European Enlightenment philosophers that included John Locke, Thomas Hobbes, Voltaire, Charles de Montesquieu and Jean Jacques Rousseau.

“This was inappropriate placement of Jefferson’s name,” said Lowe of the World History proposal. “Jefferson was not himself an Enlightenment philosopher, although he was heavily influenced by the writings of these individuals. But to say the State Board of Education has removed him from the TEKS is inaccurate and irresponsible,” said Lowe.

Lowe continued, “Jefferson not only penned the words of the Declaration of Independence, served as the third president of the United States and was father of the University of Virginia, but his promotion of the ideals of a limited federal government and states’ rights also permeated our nation for generations. No study of American history would be complete without his inclusion,” she said.

Genocide of Souls

The Western Lib Media and their godfathers in Academia hate the recounting of Communist and Atheist atrocities of the 20th Century because they fear it would be used against the Western Left in the same way they use “Hitler” against conservatives.  So they essentially ignore it and then rationalize away their intellectual apathy by telling themselves the trajectory of evil in the world today has a “rightwing” bent, which therefore makes Communist/Atheist atrocities historically irrelevant.  They also tell themselves it’s because YOU, the public, aren’t responsible enough to be trusted with such information because it might lead you to reach erroneous conclusions about the Left.  Protecting the Left’s image is priority to them.  And last but not least– the Western Left’s slobbering love affair with the Bolshevik revolution up until the time Stalin’s crimes became known to the world.  The result is that even after nearly 50 years of Cold War with the Soviet Union, for example, Stalin’s massacre of 20 million people still remains a mere historical footnote.  That is the power of the Perception Shapers.

Vandals Desecrate WW1 Memorial

This one is just too outrageous to wait on. After 75 years in the desert a memorial cross for veterans of WW1 –most recently embroiled in a leagal dispute questioning its ‘constitutionality’ (which is a joke since separation of church and state is the only ink on the Constitution the New Liberal agenda seems to care about!)– vandals have torn it down. Predictably, after frothing at the mouth following the Supreme Court battle to take it down major news outlets (ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN) are slow to move on the story. (source)

a memorial to WW1 veterans

Please comment if you think I’m missing something here, but it is now clear that the ‘Western front’ has blown wide open. The rules of engagement are in the favor of the secular progressives. I for one am beginning to wonder if the Union will last another 25 years?

(i’ll continue to monitor the line to see how the story unfolds)

The New Tolerance: Militant Secularism vs Chritianity

Is Christianity under attack?  You already know what I think, now you be the judge.  Here the BBC, to its credit, tries its mightiest to be fair about the New Tolerance, yet still manages to comes off as somewhat of a secular progressive apologia.  It only recognizes multicultural “trends”, not a concerted agenda by the culture destroyers to impose this multiculturalism from above.  In fact, this is precisely WHY they are imposing multiculturalism on the West– to eradicate judeo-christian culture and traditions.  Nevertheless, there’s good stuff in here, including numerous outrageous examples of christian persecution.  Of course, as I’ve said before, the people most opposed to your judeo-christian culture and traditions are white Leftists, not the multi-culti immigrants they purport to speak for.  To the Leftist culture destroyers, multiculturalism means LESS culture (yours), not more.  But the vast majority of immigrants who come to the West are just working slobs like you and me.  They don’t come here with an agenda.  They just want a better life.  Yet it’s the immigrants who naturally get the blame for the social engineering projects of the Left.  That’s why CCHQ’s target when it comes to culture is overwhelmingly the LEFT– always the LEFT– not immigrants.  And now, after decades of silence, Anglican church leaders, the Pope, and even Jewish rabbis are finally beginning to voice their concerns as well– “Equality legislation is part of a secular ideology, and it cannot be allowed to run roughshod over religion.”  Moreoever, equality legislation is consistently being applied on a highly selective and anti-christian basis.  Below is what you get with the multi-culti package they sold you on back in the 80s– the eradication of your own judeochristian culture:

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

Part 5

Part 6

There is gold in each and every one of these clips, but particularly in clip 5 where they discuss how Islamism is beginning to fill the moral and religious vacuum created by the Leftist doctrine of multiculturalism.

The War on Britain’s Jews

The real backlash isn’t against Muslims, it’s against the Jews.  It’s gotten so bad in parts of England that Orthodox Jews are provided a police escort to their synagogues.  Jewish schools are built like fortresses and are outfitted by the government with anti-bomb windows.  This kind of thing has traditionally come from the far Right.  But now Muslims as well as the Left are piling on too.

Judge: National Day of Prayer Unconstitutional

Sec Prog lawyer in black robes rules National Day of Prayer unconscionably unconstitutional based on– get a load of this– “the feeling of unwelcomeness and exclusion they experience as nonreligious persons”.  It hurts his feelings.  The judge, or course, knows more about the First Amendment than the very Founding Fathers who hired chaplains for both houses of Congress, and prayed daily while deliberating that amendment.

In a decision released Thursday, U.S. District Judge Barbara B. Crabb declared the National Day of Prayer unconstitutional. The decision comes in the case filed by The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), a Wisconsin-based organization, which challenged the constitutionality of a 1988 federal law giving the president the authority to designate the first Thursday in May as a National Day of Prayer.

The day of prayer “goes beyond mere ‘acknowledgment’ of religion because its sole purpose is to encourage all citizens to engage in prayer, an inherently religious exercise that serves no secular function in this context,” Crabb wrote. “In this instance, the government has taken sides on a matter that must be left to individual conscience.”

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) which represented 31 members of Congress in an amicus brief defending the National Day of Prayer, said that the decision is flawed and expressed confidence that it will be overturned.  “It is unfortunate that this court failed to understand that a day set aside for prayer for the country represents a time-honored tradition that embraces the First Amendment, not violates it,” said Jay Sekulow, Chief Counsel of the ACLJ.

The ACLJ brief noted that the country has a long history of recognizing a national day of prayer dating back to the late 1700’s with the Continental Congress recommending that the states set apart a day for prayer and thanksgiving.  The brief states that “the historical evidence establishing a National Day of Prayer as deeply embedded in the tradition and history of this country is indisputable.”

The Obama Administration– to their credit– are condemning the decision, arguing the National Day of Prayer simply acknowledges the role of religion in the United States.  The Justice Department has filed an appeal, and will fight the ruling, not only on the merits, but also on the plaintiff’s standing to bring the suit.  Many are already snarkily and not so snarkily second-guessing their motives, but CCHQ won’t do so as long as I agree with their actions.

Jay Sekulow (ACLJ), meanwhile, says the case will go all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, and that it will have an immediate impact on President Obama’s Supreme Court nomination to replace the retiring Justice Stevens.

“This issue could very well be decided by the next appointee to the high court. An issue like this underscores the importance of why it’s so critical for the nominee to answer direct questions about their judicial philosophy, how they view the role of judges, and their view of the rule of law.”

“Every time…in the last at least 15 to 20 years when there’s been a Supreme Court vacancy, it seems that there’s one case that arises that gets the interest of the United States Senate and the confirmation process,” he observes.  “And that may well be this case because it’s a unique case. It’s a federal statute; it’s the National Day of Prayer passed by Congress.”

“The reason I think it goes to the Supreme Court is because, who knows what’s going to happen at the Seventh Circuit (Court of Appeals),” Sekulow said. “That is a circuit that has been difficult at times on religion cases. I think it is very likely that this case ends up in the Supreme Court of the United States, and I think we will carry the day, but it is going to be a close case.”
