Liberal moderator argues with Newt Gingrich on targeted assassinations

At one of the GOP debates, Liberal media rep Scott Pelley forgets he’s just a moderator and tries to argue with Newt Gingrich about the rule of law as applied to enemy combatants (why are Liberals moderating GOP debates?  That is insane).  Mr. Pelley argues these targeted assassinations are “outside of the law” because they are “extra-judicial” and not approved by a judge or jury.  Essentially the same old moral posturing disguised as “constitutional analysis” we’ve come to expect from these Libs for the last ten years.  Mind you, Pelley’s job is to ask questions, not argue with the candidates, but he just can’t help himself.  But this isn’t Herman Cain he’s arguing with, who like most political neophytes isn’t yet sure why/what he believes and has to make it up on the fly.  This is Newt Gingrich, one of the smartest and most experienced players in American politics, and there’s nothing the likes of Pelley can do to intimidate him.  Here Newt reminds Pelley what is (or should be) common sense to the rest of us.  If you want the protections of the U.S. Constitution and civilian courts of law, then you must SUBMIT YOURSELF to them.  Otherwise you are off the reservation and deserve what’s coming to you.

“If you engage in war against the United States, you are an enemy combatant.  You have none of the civil liberties of the United States.

Bibi Slams the U.N. as a “theater of the absurd.”

This is what speaking truth to power REALLY looks like.  Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu delivers one of the tightest, most fact intensive political speeches I have ever heard.

Israel, the one true democracy in the Middle East, is unjustly singled out for condemnation more often than all the nations of the world combined.  Is it possible that tiny Israel is worse than China, N. Korea, Sudan, Syria, Libya, Iran, Myanmar, etc., and the rest of the world’s dictatorships COMBINED?  Is that truly possible?  Seriously folks, the persecution of Israel by this corrupt world body held hostage by the Muslim block and Arab Oil, and populated by the worst thugocracies on the planet might almost be mistaken for apocalyptic.  It’s sick and bizarre.  Netanyahu warns of a malignancy that is sweeping the world called militant Islam (why is nobody else at the U.N. addressing this?) which opposes, not the policies of Israel, but its very existence.  He slams Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran for suggesting 9/11 was an American conspiracy, warns of the consequences should Iran acquire a WMD, the rise of militant Islam across the Middle East, and the creation of a Palestinian state.  Speaking about the U.N., he says:

This is an unfortunate part about the U.N. institution, it’s a theatre of the Absurd.  It doesn’t only cast Israel as the villain, it often casts REAL villains in leading roles.  Ghaddafi’s Libya chaired the U.N. commission on human rights.  Saddam Hussein’s Iraq headed the U.N. committee on disarmament.  Hesbollah controlled Lebanon now presides over the U.N. security council.   This means in effect that a terror organization presides over the body entrusted with guaranteeing world security [and recall Sudan’s comic/tragic membership on the U.N.’s human rights committee].  You couldn’t make this stuff up.

Netanyahu addresses the claim by President Abbas that the core of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict is the “settlements”:

Well, that’s odd.  Our conflict was raging for nearly half a century before there was a single Israeli settlement in the West Bank.  So if what President Abbas says is true, then I guess the “settlements” he’s talking about are Tel Aviv, Haifa, Jaffa, Beersheva.  Maybe that’s what he meant when he said the other day that Israel has been occupying Palestinian land for sixty-three years.  He didn’t say from 1967, he said from 1948.  It illustrates a simple truth — the core of the conflict is not the settlements.  The core of the conflict is the refusal of the Palestinians to recognize the Jewish state in ANY border.

Responding to demands that Israel make a “sweeping” offer in order to secure peace he says:

There’s only one problem with that theory.  We’ve tried it and it hasn’t worked.  In 2000 we made a sweeping peace offer that met virtually all of the Palestinian demands.  Arafat rejected it.  Palestinians then launched a campaign of terror that claimed a thousand Israeli lives.  Prime Minister Ehud Olmert made an even more sweeping offer to the Palestinians.  President Abbas didn’t even respond to it.

But Israel has made more than just sweeping offers:

We have actually conceded territory.  We withdrew from Lebanon in 2000, and from every square inch of Gaza in 2005.  We left Gaza hoping for peace.  We didn’t freeze the settlements in Gaza, we uprooted them.  That didn’t calm the militant Islamic storm that threatens us.  It only brought the storm closer and made it stronger.  Hesbollah and Hamas fired thousands of rockets against our cities from the very territories we vacated.  When Israel left Lebanon and Gaza, the moderates didn’t defeat the radicals, the moderates were DEVOURED by the radicals.

On the consequences of Israel’s concessions:

We did exactly what the theory says.  And I don’t think people remember how far we went to achieve this.  And then having done all that, we gave the keys of Gaza to President Abbas.  You can all remember the world applauded the withdrawal as an act of great statesmanship.  As a bold act of peace.  Now, the theory says it should all work out.  But ladies and gentlemen, we didn’t get peace, we got war.  We got Iran, which through its proxy Hamas promptly kicked out the Palestinian Authority in one day.

On a Palestinian state in the West Bank:

President Abbas says the Palestinians are armed only with their hopes and dreams.  Yup.  Hopes, dreams, and ten thousand missiles and grad rockets supplied by Iran, not to mention the river of lethal weapons now flowing into Gaza from the Sinai, from Libya and elsewhere.  Thousands of missiles have already rained down on our cities. So you might understand, given all this, Israelis rightly ask what’s to prevent all this from happening again from the West Bank.  Israel is prepared to have a Palestinian state in the West Bank, but we are not prepared to have another Gaza there.

And he was just getting started.  I haven’t quite understood why Abbas declaring a Palestinian state in the West Bank was so threatening to the Israelis, but I get it now.  Makes perfect sense why peace must be achieving FIRST, before statehood is awarded to the Palestinians, which he explains here.  The consequences otherwise could quite literally mean the start of a regional war.

A Tale of two parties: The hecklers

Those Teabaggers are so HATEFUL and so ANGRY.  Or at least that’s how the Dems and their allies in the media like to portray them.  As evidence they provide the following where some Tea Party activists confront Obama about alleged reports that Vice-President Biden called the Tea Party a bunch of terrorists to whip up support for the debt limit deal.

That’s it?  They sounded pretty civilized to me.  Sure, they were persistent, but their tone was even and level, and they let him speak.  How incredibly presidential Barack might have sounded if he had acknowledged their grievances and then apologized on behalf of Joe Biden and the rest of this administration’s hatchet men and attack dogs who have so lowered the bar on political discourse in this country over the last three years.  He is the “Healer in Chief”, here to bring a “new tone”, is he not?  lol. But that’s just not how Obama is built.  When he’s off script, it’s back to his old Chicago Way.  And yet this mild little incident is what the Dems are currently shopping around to prove how extreme and “terroristic” those baggers are.  Pretty thin gruel if you ask me.

Now let’s compare and contrast that episode with how wild-eyed Leftists deal with the other side.  This was how they heckled and harangued one of the GOP frontrunners, Mitt Romney, at the Iowa State Fair:

Savages.  And yet it’s the Teabaggers who are the angry, violent ones.  Uh huh, sure.

The fact is that Liberalism never made somebody a better person.  It hasn’t, and here you have more proof.  For all their protestations about caring for “the poor” (i.e., themselves), it’s not an ideology that places very much emphasis on codes of personal behavior, which is why they can do whatever they damn well please and never be accused of hypocrisy.  Conservatism, on the other hand, does emphasize personal behavior, which is why anybody on the Right who falls short of their standard is condemned by the Left as a “hypocrite”.  A good Lib has no such dilemma, and that’s why they can behave as childishly as they want and still regard themselves as a paragon of secular progressive virtue, as long as they have the correct beliefs. Especially when the target of their bile is one of those eeeevil Reichwingers.

That’s why there are hecklers, and then there are hecklers.

Norwegian massacre a public relations disaster to the Conservative movement

Neo-Nazi fruit cake Anders Behring Breivik

CCHQ offers its deepest condolences and prayers to the victims of this attack.  It doesn’t matter that Leftism also has its wackjobs, the Norwegian massacre is a public relations disaster of epic proportions for the Conservative movement.  We just got NUKED.  Henceforth and for decades to come, anybody who counts himself as a conservative, Christian, or who opposes mass Islamic immigration will be linked by our opponents on the Left to this monster and his crimes.  Every time you raise the spectre of Jihad, the Left will counter with Anders Behring Breivik. This comes at a time when the conservative movement was making real inroads in what has been a staunchly Leftist Europe.  This mad man has done for Islam what 1,000 Muslim terrorists couldn’t have done– crippled the Right and strengthened the Left.  And Lefties know it.  And not because any sane Leftist actually believes the likes of Breivik represent conservatives in general, no, but that won’t stop them from using him in their vile bloodsport of destroying conservatives at any cost.  They wouldn’t dream of letting a crisis like this go to waste.

Norwegian massacre gunman was a right-wing extremist who hated Muslims

The man responsible for the massacre in Norway was a member of a Swedish nazi forum which encourages attacks on government buildings.  It was also revealed by local police that he had extreme right wing views who hated Muslims.  According to Swedish website Expo Anders Behring Breivik is a member of ‘Nordisk’ which has 22,000 members and focuses on political terrorism.

Officers also found a series of raving internet posts by the 32-year-old, who has been charged with two counts of terrorism after gunning down children on the island of Utoya and detonating a bomb in Oslo yesterday.  Media reports in Norway described Breivik as a ‘loner’, who lived with his mother in a wealthy suburb of west Oslo, was well-educated and enjoyed hunting.

Only a few days ago he set up a Twitter account and posted a single message: ‘One person with a belief is equal to the force of 100,000 who have only interests’.  It is attributed to the English philosopher John Stuart Mill, whose concept of liberty justified the freedom of the individual in opposition to unlimited state control.  The account appears to have only been set up a few days ago.

On his Facebook profile, Breivik describes himself as a Christian and a conservative.  It also listed interests such as body-building and freemasonry.

Breivik is believed to have grown up in Oslo, and studied at the Oslo School of Management.  He later appears to have moved out of the city and established Breivik Geofarm, a company believed to be an organic farm.  It specialised in melons and root vegetables. There is speculation among the media in Norway that this may have allowed him easy access to fertiliser, an ingredient used in bomb-making.  Along with the farm, he also appears to own a flat in Oslo. Breivik had no military background except for ordinary national service and no criminal record.

It is thought that the 32-year-old is a former member of Labour’s opposition youth party, Fremskrittspartiet.  According the website Atlantic.com, Breivik expressed extremist Islamophobic views on forums and criticised immigration policies.  He argued on a Swedish news website that the media were not critical enough about Islam and claimed that Geert Wilders’ Party for Freedom in the Netherlands was the only ‘true’ party of conservatives.  He argued that socialism was breaking down traditions, culture, national identity and other societal structures and that this in turn made society weak and confused.

“Obama needs an Oklahoma Moment”

Rahm Emmanuel says never let a crisis go to waste. If you’re wondering what’s driving the current Leftist stampede to blame conservatives for Jared Loughner, this is why– he is an OPPORTUNITY.  Former Clinton adviser, Mark Penn, said President Obama needs an event like the Oklahoma City bombing to reconnect him with the voters.  How despicable to even articulate such a thing, yet notice Chris Matthews doesn’t bat an eyelash.  Well, they got their event, and it’s an opportunity they don’t intend on wasting.

Happy New Year: Bomb kills 21 at Egypt church

Copts: victims of Christophobia

HAPPY NEW YEAR! (same as the last year)

How’s this for “fresh starts”? I suppose these Copts had it coming to them (you know, just as those “little Eichmann’s” did on 9/11).   The likes of Katie Couric say America is an Islamophobic country on the verge of an anti-Muslim pogrom.  But don’t be fooled.  This is what a REAL backlash against besieged minorities looks like .

Suicide bomber kills 21 at Egyptian church

(Reuters) – A bomb killed at least 21 people outside a church in the Egyptian city of Alexandria early on New Year’s Day and the Interior Ministry said a foreign-backed suicide bomber may have been responsible. Dozens of people were wounded by the blast, which scattered body parts, destroyed cars and smashed windows. The attack prompted Christians to protest on the streets, and some Christians and Muslims hurled stones at each other.

Mubarak promised in a televised address that terrorists would not destabilize Egypt or divide Christians and Muslims. He said the attack “carries evidence of the involvement of foreign fingers” and vowed to pursue the perpetrators.  A statement on an Islamist website posted about two weeks before the blast called for attacks on Egypt’s churches, listing among them the one hit. No group was named in the statement.

“There are people who want this country to be unstable, and all fingers point to outside hands being behind this incident,” senior group member Mohamed el-Katatni said.  The circumstances of the attack, compared with other incidents abroad, “clearly indicates that foreign elements undertook planning and execution,” the Interior Ministry said.

An Iraqi deputy interior minister, Hussein Kamal, urged Arab states to cooperate in the fight against terrorism and to help stop Arab militants training in Iraq and then returning home.  Health Ministry spokesman Abdel Rahman Shahin said 21 people had been confirmed killed so far and 97 were wounded, the official Middle East News Agency reported.

US Media & Leadership Sucking up to Jihadis, Persecuting Christians

The Fort Hood massacre has been tossed down the memory hole, and they still haven’t told us how and why it happened.  No huge investigations with the U.S. media waiting breathlessly to publish the results.  It just fell off the radar.   Here General Boykin tells us how the massacre happened and why it was deep sixed by the media establishment.

Swedish PM “not sure” bomb was Jihad

Swedish Prime Minister Frederick Reinfeldt

The Swedish remind me of little hobbits.  Mordor’s minions are running wild in the countryside and threaten an invasion of the Shire, and still its fat and comfortable inhabitants remain blind to the threat.  What is it with these secular progressives, these self-described members of the “reality-based community” who refuse to accept, well, reality.  A couple of days ago a suicide bomber exploded himself in the streets of Sweden hoping to take as many Secular Progressives with him as he possibly could.  Luckily nobody except for the splodey dope himself died, but only because the device went off prematurely.  There were emails warning of the attack in the name of Allah before the explosion, and emails giving credit to Allah subsequent to the attack.  And still the Swedish prime minister– like a secular progressive hobbit in denial– refuses to accept that Jihad has come to their lefty Utopia.

Swedish PM “Not Sure” if Islamist Threats Connected to Stockholm Bombing

In an interview with the BBC, Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt said he is “not sure” if e-mail threats sent minutes before two bombs exploded in downtown Stockholm are connected to yesterday’s bombing which killed the attacker and injured two civilians.

The threat stated in part, “Our actions will speak for themselves, as long as you do not stop your stupid war against Islam.”

While Prime Minister Reinfeldt (the leader of Sweden’s ostensibly conservative Moderate Party) might not be sure if the e-mail threat and subsequent bombings are connected, an Islamist website is very sure.  The website, Shumukh al-Islam, identified the bomber as Taimour Abdulwahib Al-Abdaly.  The jihadist forum referred to Al-Abdaly as “our brother” and indicated that Al-Abdaly had “carried out the martyrdom operation in Stockholm.”

The Daily Mail reports that Al-Abdaly was born in Iraq, had moved to Sweden nearly twenty years ago and had attended university in England.  The British daily also indicated that Al-Abdaly had a history of expressing jihadist sympathies posting videos concerning the War in Iraq, Chechnya and Guantanamo Bay.

So is Prime Minister Reinfeldt still not sure if the e-mail threats are connected to the bombings?  He better not be because next time his people might not be so lucky.

AP: “Terrorist” attack in Sweden

Police forensics expert at scene in Stockholm

Apparently Sweden isn’t Leftwing enough to stave off Islamic “blowback.”  Did you think you would be spared, Libs?  Do you actually believe your Liberalism and “openess” immunizes you from this?  This was supposed to end once the neocons of the Bush administration were expelled from office and Obama began to heal the planet.  And Sweden’s crime is what exactly?  Apparently they have 500 troops in Afghanistan as members of NATO (none engaged in combat), and their official “silence” regarding the Jyllands-Posten Mohammed cartoons.

The first thing you will notice about this article are the scare quotes the Associated Press uses for the word ‘terrorism.’  You see, everybody–even Swedish officials– acknowledge this attack was an act of terrorism, but I guess the AP isn’t yet convinced.  The perception shapers in the mainstream media would have you believe that calling acts of violence such as this ‘terrorism’ is mere supposition on the part of racists and fearmongers, while the AP only deals in “cold hard facts.”

The next thing you will notice is the sound of dislocating vertebrae as Swedish officials bend over backwards to minimize the public perception fallout lest it threaten their multicultural project.

Officials condemn “terrorist” attack in Sweden

STOCKHOLM – Two blasts that shook a busy shopping street in central Stockholm were an act of terrorism, officials said Sunday. If confirmed as a suicide bombing, it would be the first such attack in the Nordic country.  Police would not comment on a motive for the attack Saturday that killed the apparent bomber and wounded two other people. But a Swedish news agency said it received an e-mail threat just before the blast in which the writer claimed to have visited the Middle East “for jihad,” and referred to Sweden’s soldiers in Afghanistan and a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad that outraged the Muslim world.

The terror threat alert is not being raised from its current elevated level, although security police are investigating the attacks as “a crime of terror,” spokesman Anders Thornberg told reporters.  “When we go through the existing criteria and the series of events that occurred, it fits well within the description of a terror crime,” Thornberg said.  He declined to elaborate and gave no information about the dead man.

Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt condemned the attack.  The attack “is unacceptable because Sweden is an open society and an open society which has stated a wish that people should be able to have different backgrounds, believe in different gods or not believe in any at all, and live side by side in our open society,” Reinfeldt said at a news conference.

He warned against speculation that “could lead to conclusions that create tension which paints pictures that are then difficult to change.” Carl Bildt, the foreign minister, said it was “a most worrying attempt at a terrorist attack.” Bildt commented in a Twitter message that it “failed — but could have been truly catastrophic.”

Thornberg did not confirm local media reports that the man who died had explosives strapped to his body. He also would not say if the man was a suspected suicide bomber as widely reported by Swedish media, saying police have “a totally clear picture about that” but were not sharing the information.

The Religion of Projection

Smells like Teen Jihad.

Jihad in a nutshell:  the West insults our religion, they take our lands, they rape our women.

Teen arrested in Oregon car bomb plot led 2 lives

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The plot described by the FBI was horrific: a 19-year-old Somali-born Muslim with a grudge against the West, ready to kill and maim thousands at a busy Portland Christmas tree lighting ceremony.  But while the FBI describes Mohamed Osman Mohamud as a would-be terrorist, there were few hints of that hidden life to Mohamud’s friends, who knew him as “Mo,” a quiet, suburban teen who liked to drink gin and play video games.

The teen who allegedly thought he was going to kill thousands of people the day after Thanksgiving in the name of Islamic radicalism is the same one who, three days earlier, wrote and read a Kwanzaa poem about unity with two Christian college students.  Court documents and Mohamud’s friends describe the slender Somali-American as juggling contradictory lives — that of an immigrant struggling to fit in and a Muslim who had become radicalized and was bent on holy war.

In a cell phone video obtained and aired by Portland station KPTV last week, Mohamud rants against the West.  “You know what the whole West thing is? They want to insult our religion,” he says in the video, which the station says was recorded May 22 in an OSU dorm room. “They want to take our lands. They want to rape our women.”

Shelby Turner, a former OSU classmate, said she remembers “Mo Mo” as a funny if awkward student.  “I remember him always saying `hi’ and giving me nicknames like `Shelbs,’ ” Turner told the AP. “He was smart when he wanted to be. But socially, he never fit except with a few other kids like him.”

We rape their women?  Really?  Why the heck would we rape their women, they’re a bunch of nasty old skanks.  They’re hairier than their men, for crissakes.  It’s like the frikin Yucatan forest under that burka.  Like they’ve got Bin Laden in a leg lock.  We’re not raping their women, they’re raping ours! And we’re stealing their lands?  Really?  Why in the heck would we want those filthy sewers in the first place.  Just sell us your damn oil is all we want.  In fact the only ones taking someone’s land is them, with demographers projecting an Islamic Europe in this century. The fact is their hatred of the infidel is pure projection.  What they accuse YOU of doing is exactly what THEY’RE doing.

Israeli Forest Fires an Act of Terrorism?

Israel has forests?  Apparently so, and they have been decimated by forest fires.  Muslim yutes have been arrested. I say ‘Muslim’–rather than Arab– in order to be precise. Christian Arabs aren’t engaging in acts of terrorism against Israel, or anywhere else for that matter.  Even in that country– as is the case here in the West– the media tries to downplay ethnicity/religion when the culprits are suspected of being Muslim. They are more afraid of non-existent “backlash” than of actual terrorism.  Nevertheless, it has not yet been proven that these forest fires were intentional.

Press Low-Key on Wave of Arson by Israel’s Arabs

The IDF has released video footage shot from an IAF aircraft, which shows a vehicle escaping from the scene of an arson attack on the Carmel Mountain. The conversation on the radio, in Hebrew, is between pilots and police. The pilots report that they have received word from a firefighting aircraft that spotted the vehicle leaving the scene of an act of arson, near a spot called the Muhraka. The aircraft follows the vehicle – a Renault Kangoo – until it is stopped by police cars.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Despite this video, news of the wave of arson is seeping into the public consciousness mostly through smaller news sources and by word of mouth.  Police said the main conflagration in the Carmel Mountains was unintentionally caused by a group of youth from Ossafiya.  According to a report on Channel 2 news, the youths lit a fire as part of a nocturnal picnic and did not put it out properly before leaving the site. Later reports said that while most of the residents of Ossafiya are Druze, the youths who were arrested are Arabs.

However, Channel 2‘s website also carries a report that Border Police arrested two Arabs, one an Israeli citizen and the other from the Palestinian Authority, who tried to start a fire near Jerusalem on Saturday night. The two were caught in a ravine near the “tunnels checkpoint” at the entrance to the neighborhood of Gilo.  Citizens who passed through the checkpoint noticed the suspects and reported their activity to security forces. A Border Police team identified the two trying to set a fire, called on them to stop and fired four shots in the air. The suspects tried to escape in a vehicle but were arrested after a short chase.  A short time later, a 34-year-old Arab man was arrested near Dodge Junction close to Nazareth. He was taken to interrogation.  The volunteer “New HaShomer” land security group also placed ambushes in key locations. On Friday it reported several arrests, via text messages that it sent to its volunteer guards.

The News1 website reported that Radio Haifa interviewed several people who witnessed car horn-honking and other acts of public celebration in the Arab village of Furadis, south of Haifa, after news of the tragedy became known Thursday.  According to the report, Arab citizens uploaded to a Facebook account gruesome photographs of charred bodies of victims. Other Arabs expressed their feelings by clicking “like.” The police are said to be investigating the matter and the Facebook page is said to have been closed.

However, the pictures have already begun making the rounds worldwide. A group called “Mujahedeen of Palestine,” identified with Al-Qaeda, put the pictures of the bodies on a YouTube video. The video includes text that says “Muhammad’s lions” came out at night to set alight the land of the “occupiers.”

UPDATE: The Jewish National Fund is taking donations here to help replant the forests decimated by the fires.

UPDATE: A 14-year-old boy arrested Monday has admitted to setting the fire accidentally and was now the main suspect, said police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld.  The boy told police he had been smoking a water pipe Thursday and threw some burning coals into an open area in the Carmel forest. He said he panicked, fled the scene and returned to school without telling anyone, Rosenfeld said.

Leftism: the “Anti” Ideology

Dead eyes, like a doll's eyes.

Doesn’t that mug shot make you sick to the stomach?  I almost wish there was a ticking time bomb out there forcing us to lay him on a board and painfully wring its location from him– but not too quickly, mind you.  Nice and slow.  Alas, thanks to the FBI it never came to that.  And no thanks at all to the Leftists on the Portland, OR city council who are more concerned about moral posturing and ideological preening than the safety of their constituents.  If left to them dozens, if not hundreds of Oregonians might be lying dead today if the FBI hadn’t intercepted this monster before somebody else did.  And apparently it was only a matter of time before somebody did get to him.

Portland Rejected FBI who eventually saved city from terrorist attack

In 2005, leaders in Portland, Oregon, angry at the Bush administration’s conduct of the war on terror, voted not to allow city law enforcement officers to participate in a key anti-terror initiative, the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. On Friday, that task force helped prevent what could have been a horrific terrorist attack in Portland.  Now city officials say they might re-think their participation in the task force — because Barack Obama is in the White House.

Reading the FBI affidavit describing Islamist terror suspect Mohamed Osman Mohamud’s plan to bomb a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Portland’s Pioneer Courthouse Square is a chilling experience.  Mohamud, a Somali-born naturalized U.S. citizen who attended Oregon State University, told undercover FBI agents he dreamed of performing acts of jihad in which hundreds, perhaps thousands, of Americans would die.  “Do you remember when 9/11 happened when those people were jumping from skyscrapers?” Mohamud asked the agents, according to the affidavit.  “I thought that was awesome.”

In months of preparation with men he thought were co-conspirators but were in fact undercover agents, Mohamud backed up his talk with action.  After initially making email contact with Islamist radicals in Pakistan, he took part in constructing what he hoped would be an extraordinarily powerful bomb, scouted the best location for the attack, parked the van containing the bomb near the Christmas tree crowd, and, finally, dialed the cell phone number he believed would detonate the explosives. “I want whoever is attending that event to leave either dead or injured,” Mohamud said of the 25,000 people expected to take part in the event.

What is ironic is that the operation that found and stopped Mohamud is precisely the kind of law enforcement work that Portland’s leaders, working with the American Civil Liberties Union, rejected during the Bush years. In April 2005, the Portland city council voted 4 to 1 to withdraw Portland city police officers from participating in the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. Mayor Tom Potter said the FBI refused to give him a top-secret security clearance so he could make sure the officers weren’t violating state anti-discrimination laws that bar law enforcement from targeting suspects on the basis of their religious or political beliefs.

But here’s the kicker.  Portland is now joining the FBI task force because Obama’s president!

Now, there are indications that the Mohamud case might cause city leaders to change their mind about the FBI and the war on terror. Current mayor Sam Adams, who says he was not aware of the Mohamud investigation until after Mohamud had been arrested, told the Oregonian newspaper that he might ask the city council to reconsider the decision to pull out of the Joint Terrorism Task Force.  Because he now realizes the city was wrong?  Not at all. “[Adams] stressed that he has much more faith in the Obama administration and the leadership of the U.S. Attorney’s office now than he did in 2005,” the paper reported.

Leftism is deadly.  Read the rest.

This was the silver lining for me when Obama won the presidency.  His victory would allow Liberals and Democrats to begin acting like Americans again.  We could now fight terrorism in earnest!  And at least in mayor Adam’s case I appear to have been right.  Leftists like mayor Adams aren’t pro-Islamism, and they certainly aren’t pro-terrorism.  So what gives?  Easy.  We have already discussed this at CCHQ. During the Cold War, Liberals weren’t necessarily proCommunist. Rather, they were anti those who were anticommunist. In other words, they were anti all things “the Right.”  If conservatives during the Cold War were hawks, it was the Left’s job to be soft on communism.  It was their job to be anti-the anti-Soviets. In knee-jerk fashion, they mocked the likes of Ronald Reagan as “chickenhawks” and warmongers.  That same impulse to be anti-all things “the Right” is alive and well today, compelling modern Liberals to be anti-the anti-terrorists. Before the Age of Obama, they were anti-Bush, anti-war on terror, as surely as they were anti-FBI terrorism task force in Portland, OR.  They are the true reactionaries.  We at CCHQ identified this syndrome back in August, and now the Weekly Standard confirms it:

Anti-Anti-Islamism

When Cat Stevens was introduced at Jon Stewart’s recent “Rally to Restore Sanity,” the musician also known by his Muslim name Yusuf Islam was greeted with warm applause and howls of approval. It was a strange reception coming from a culturally savvy, mostly twentysomething audience, for while Stevens’s songs are a staple in the 1970s schlock-folk canon, he is best known these days for having supported Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini’s 1989 fatwa demanding the execution of novelist Salman Rushdie.

Stevens has tried to whitewash his record over the years, without ever acknowledging or apologizing for his comments, including his response to a British interviewer’s question as to whether he would attend a demonstration to burn an effigy of the writer; Stevens answered glibly that he “hoped that it’d be the real thing.”

“I don’t know why no one in that crowd booed Stevens, or heckled him when he was introduced,” says the British author Nick Cohen, who was in contact with Rushdie after the rally. “Rushdie phoned Stewart, who said he was sorry if it upset him, but it was clear Stewart didn’t really care.”

Presumably what mattered to Stewart and the rally’s cosponsor Stephen Colbert was less Stevens’s willingness to join in the bloodlust of the Islamic Republic of Iran (the fatwa has been reaffirmed by Iran’s current supreme leader, Ali Khamenei) than the fact that Stevens/Islam had been put on a no-fly list by the Bush administration. Never mind that the folk singer had been identified as having donated to a Muslim charity with ties to Hamas; anyone considered unfriendly by Bush is an ally.

This is the essence of modern Liberalism.  It isn’t a coherent, systematic belief system or ideology.  They are simply anti the Right, anti conservative.  That’s why their tent is so large and fractious.  Many are the Right’s enemies.  But they agree on one thing, and one thing only– they despise the Right.  Little else binds them.

Muslim: “Profile Me”

Asra Nomani

In the wake of yet another Muslim terrorist plot, we can no longer ignore the religious/ethnic profiling option.  Or at least that’s what this Muslim patriot believes.  You want to live in a multi-ethnic society?  Well, don’t you?  Then religious and racial profiling COMES WITH THE TERRITORY.  Or at least it should in a sane society not warped by the mental illness we call PC.  It’s the price I myself am willing to pay as a young hispanic male living close to the border.  It’s the price I have paid –on several occassions– to live in a multi-ethnic society that is ORDERLY AND SAFE.  That’s because I don’t carry a racial chip on my shoulder, and I am a patriot.  So get over it, lily white Libturds.  Your hyper-sensitivity is pathetic, and I don’t need your lily white selves to protect me from the screaming racists in your head.

Airport Security: Let’s Profile Muslims

As an American Muslim, I’ve come to recognize, sadly, that there is one common denominator defining those who’ve got their eyes trained on U.S. targets: MANY of them are Muslim—like the Somali-born teenager arrested Friday night for a reported plot to detonate a car bomb at a packed Christmas tree-lighting ceremony in downtown Portland, Oregon.

We have to talk about the taboo topic of profiling because terrorism experts are increasingly recognizing that religious ideology makes terrorist organizations and terrorists more likely to commit heinous crimes against civilians, such as blowing an airliner out of the sky. Certainly, it’s not an easy or comfortable conversation but it’s one, I believe, we must have.

I realize that in recent years, profiling has become a dirty word, synonymous with prejudice, racism, and bigotry. But while I believe our risk assessment should not end with religion, race and ethnicity, I believe that it should include these important elements, as part of a “triage” strategy that my debate partner, former CIA case officer Robert Baer, says airports and airliners already do.

This past week, as part of a debate series sponsored by the New York-based group Intelligence Squared, I argued that U.S. airports should use racial and religious profiling. (Taking the opposite stand was a “debating team” that included the former director of the Department of Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff; Columbia University scholar of Pakistan, Hassan Abbas; and Debra Burlingame, a former flight attendant whose brother was a pilot of one of the planes hijacked on 9/11.)

And more Americans, it seems, are willing to choose racial and religious profiling as one part of keeping our skies safe. At the beginning of the debate, 37 percent of the audience was for religious and racial profiling, while 33 percent were against and 30 percent were undecided. By the end of the debate, 49 percent of the audience was for religious and racial profiling, 40 percent were against and the rest were undecided, meaning that that the motion carried. Of course, this “victory” in a scholarly debate doesn’t mean that the motion would necessarily win any broader popularity contests.

Backlash!!! Arsonist Sets Fire To Oregon Mosque Frequented By Terrorist

The Salman Al-Farisi Center in Corvallis, Oregon

CORVALLIS, Ore. — Arson caused a fire on Sunday at an Islamic center that was the occasional place of worship for a Somali-born teen who two days ago was arrested on charges of plotting a terror attack in Portland, authorities said.

The fire at the Salman Al-Farisi Islamic Center was set early Sunday morning, said Carla Pusateri, a fire prevention officer for the Corvallis Fire Department.  She said “quite a bit of evidence” was left at the scene, which led her to believe the fire was intentionally set. No injuries have been reported.

The Islamic center was frequented by Mohamed Osman Mohamud, a 19-year-old held on charges of plotting to carry out a terror attack at a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Portland on Friday.  Yosof Wanly, imam at the Salman Alfarisi Islamic Center, said Mohamud was a normal student who went to athletic events, drank the occasional beer and was into rap music and culture.

Wanly said Mohamud was religious but didn’t come to the mosque consistently.  The fire on Sunday was contained to one room, burning 80 percent of the center’s office, Wanly said. The worship areas were untouched.

Wanly has been advised by friends to take his family out of their home, and to “another person’s house due to the possibility of hate crimes,” he said. “I’m going to look into it, especially because my face has been on the news a lot.”

Wanly said the local populace has always been accepting of Muslims.

CCHQ denounces this firebombing.  Though note it was committed in the dead of night, so injury or death wasn’t the goal.

The local (Liberal) populace has always been accepting of Muslims, and yet this jihadi was ready to give his own life to see this loving, Liberal local populace blown to smithereens.  Do you really think you will be spared, Libs?  His target wasn’t a U.S. marine or an Army tank on Muslim soil, it was the very same community that had lovingly embraced him as their neighbor.  Monster.  And while he doesn’t represent the Muslim population at large, everybody knows violent kook arsonists represent all Reichwingers.

ps., note to Muslim houses of worship.  This may be unfair, but there are kooks out there holding you accountable for the terrorists in your midst.  If you don’t take action, apparently somebody will.

Multiculturalism a Huge Hit In Nigeria

Villagers buried hundreds of bodies in mass graves after the massacre.

If diversity is strength, the country of Nigeria is a veritable superpower.

HUNDREDS MASSACRED IN MUSLIM-CHRISTIAN VIOLENCE IN NIGERIA

DOGO NAHAWA, Nigeria – Villagers in central Nigeria buried dozens of bodies, including those of women and children, in a mass grave on Monday after attacks in which several hundred people were feared to have been killed.

Residents of the small village and two other predominantly Christian settlements said Muslim herders from surrounding hills attacked in the early hours of Sunday, opening fire to force them out of their homes before slashing them with machetes.

Witnesses said Sunday’s attack appeared to be a reprisal for unrest around Jos — the capital of Plateau state — in January, when clashes between Christian and Muslim mobs killed several hundred people. The latest violence in the centre of Africa’s most populous nation comes at a difficult time for Jonathan, who is trying to assert his authority while ailing President Umaru Yar’Adua remains too sick to govern.

Full article, here.

Ain’t multiculturalism just grand!  Here a christian priest describes the massacre:

DOGO NAHAWA, Nigeria – The killers showed no mercy: They didn’t spare women and children, or even a 4-day-old baby, from their machetes. On Monday, Nigerian women wailed in the streets as a dump truck carried dozens of bodies past burned-out homes toward a mass grave.

The horrific violence comes after sectarian killings in this region in January left more than 300 dead, most of them Muslim. Some victims were shoved into sewer pits and communal wells.  Sunday’s bloodshed in three mostly Christian villages appeared to be reprisal attacks, said Red Cross spokesman Robin Waubo.

The Rev. Pandang Yamsat, the president of a local Christian group, said he has urged his congregation not to respond violently to Muslims. However, he said he believes Muslims in the area want to control the region and that any peace talks would only give Muslims “time to conquer territory with swords.”

“We have done our best to tell our members, ‘don’t go and attack Muslims, they are your brother,'” Yamsat said. However, “‘if they come to dislodge you in your place, stand to defend yourself.'”

Barely controlled rage spilled over in the village as those gathered for the mass burial attacked a Muslim journalist covering the event. The journalist escaped, but others made threats against reporters.  The Rev. Federico Lombardi, a Vatican spokesman, condemned the violence and said Monday that the conflict must be interpreted in the light of social, economic, ethnic and cultural factors rather than religious hatred.

The killings add to the tally of thousands who have already perished in Africa’s most populous country in the last decade due to religious and political frictions. Rioting in September 2001 killed more than 1,000 people. Muslim-Christian battles killed up to 700 people in 2004. More than 300 residents died during a similar uprising in 2008.

He recalled climbing into a tree and watching as villagers were killed and the attackers set homes alight over the course of 90 minutes.  The attackers asked people “Who are you?” in Fulani, a language used mostly by Muslims, and killed those who did not answer back in Fulani, he said.

This is our future if we allow the SecProgs their way.  The Balkans on a continental scale.  So the next time a Libturd tries to tell you diversity is strength, ask him what kind of diversity– race or culture?  There’s a huge difference.  Racial diversity is not a problem, but cultural diversity can be positively DEADLY.  While there are no differences between the races, some cultures may as well come from another planet.  The differences are not illusory, they are very real.  Also, a minority culture will act one way when it’s the minority, and quite another way when it becomes the majority.  In the former case, a foreign culture is quaint and charming.  But when it dominates, that same qaint culture becomes the source of unending friction, and eventually oppression.  Your muslim neighbor down the street may be a remarkable human being, but he can teach you little to nothing about what the new Caliphate will look like because his culture is still in the minority.  To know the Caliphate, look to those countries where Islam dominates.

Michael Coren and Melanie Phillips On Islamization, Multiculturalism, and Leftwing PC

Conservative champions Michael Coren and Melanie Phillips come together in one awesome blog post of goodness.  It’s hard to believe this woman actually wrote for The Guardian once upon a time, but here she basically deconstructs the Left of which she was once a member.  Also, how Islam isn’t playing by the rules all other minority cultures have played by in the West.  This is a CCHQ must see.

Melanie Phillips:  “I’ve spent my entire career stating the obvious, and observing world war breaking out around me.”

“If you are on the Leftwing, you believe your point of view is the embodiment of Virtue because your point of view is all about creating the perfect society (utopia).  And because you axiomatically stand for Virtue, then it follows that anyone who dissents from your view is basically evil (not just wrong).”

The really good stuff starts here though.

Obama Admin: No KSM Trial in NY

Remember how “Boooosh” was shredding the Constitution?  Well, two years into the Age of Obama, no more “fierce moral urgency” and all that claptrap we heard from the Libs for 8 years during the Bush years.  You knew they were deluded, but you figured at least they were sincere. Nope.  It was all just partisan hogwash and chicanery.  Somebody owes George W. Bush an apology.

The accused mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, may remain behind bars without trial indefinitely because of disagreement over his trial location, according to the Washington Post.

The Obama administration has concluded it can’t go ahead with its original plan to have the trial in federal court in New York because of opposition from lawmakers and local officials, the Post said. There is little support for reviving an effort to hold a military trial at Guantanamo Bay, according to the Post.

Obama administration officials said Mohammed and four alleged co-conspirators can be held under laws of war, until a trial location is agreed on, the newspaper reported.

The Post report came after Attorney General Eric Holder told reporters on Nov. 10 the Obama administration was close to selecting a trial location. Holder said the administration didn’t make a decision on whether the accused should be tried in a civilian court or before a military commission.

Ticking Time Bomb Scenario: Yemen bomb was 17 minutes from exploding

From the movie "Unthinkable."

You know that hypothetical ticking time bomb scenario Libs say isn’t real, so let’s read the terrorists their Miranda rights?  Well, it turns out it is real, so hell no, don’t read them their Miranda rights.  Rather, beat the living crap out of them to get the info we need to save innocent lives.  When they made innocent civilians their target, they forfeited the right to be treated as human beings.  We aren’t f%@*% around anymore.

PARIS — One of two mail bombs sent from Yemen last week was defused just 17 minutes before it was set to explode, the French interior minister said Thursday.  Brice Hortefeux provided no other details in an interview on the state-run France-2 television channel and did not say where he got the information about the timing.

“One of the packages was defused only 17 minutes before the moment that it was set to explode,” he said.  One law enforcement official told NBC News on Thursday that the U.S. cannot confirm the 17-minute timer claim by the French minister.  U.S. officials have yet to conduct their own, independent analysis of the two bombs, which remain in the custody of U.K. and UAE investigators.

Also on Thursday, Hortefeux said that French police arrested two people on suspicion of links to terrorist groups.  When investigators pulled the Chicago-bound packages off cargo planes in England and the United Arab Emirates Friday, they found the bombs wired to cell phones and hidden in the toner cartridges of computer printers.

The communication cards had been removed and the phones could not receive calls, officials said, making it likely the terrorists intended the alarm or timer functions to detonate the bombs, U.S. officials have said.  They also said that each bomb was attached to a syringe containing lead azide, a chemical initiator that would have detonated PETN explosives packed into each printer cartridge.

The two bombs contained 300 and 400 grams of the industrial explosive PETN, according to a German security official, who briefed reporters Monday in Berlin on condition of anonymity in line with department guidelines.  By comparison, the bomb stuffed into a terrorist suspect’s underwear on the Detroit-bound plane last Christmas contained about 80 grams.

One of the explosive devices found inside a shipped printer cartridge in Dubai had flown on two airlines before it was seized, first on a Qatar Airways Airbus A320 jet to Doha and then on an as-yet-undisclosed flight from Doha to Dubai.  The number of passengers on the flights were unknown, but the first flight had a 144-seat capacity and the second would have moved on one of a variety of planes with seating capacities ranging from 144 to 335.

Driving Fox to the Right

Juan and Mara consort with the enemy.

NPR says they fired Juan Williams because he engaged in commentary and opinion, as opposed to “analysis”.  That is a laughable claim, as I grew up listening to the likes of Daniel Schorr and Nina Totenberg give me their personal opinions in the guise of analysis (the “fine line” between the two is a journalistic fiction) for 20 years at NPR.  But what if the firing of Juan Williams wasn’t just about his comments regarding Muslims at airports?  What if there is more to this than just a simple case of PC run amok?  Yes, I know his comments served to trigger his firing, but what if the rabbit hole goes a little deeper?  There are so many insidious levels to this scandal.

A Witch Hunt for Bigots Singes American Media

“Political correctness can lead to some kind of paralysis, where you don’t address reality,” Juan Williams observed rather prophetically on Bill O’Reilly’s show Monday night, before he made the comments that got him fired from his assignment as senior news analyst for National Public Radio.

This is what Williams said: “I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.  “Now, I remember also that when the Times Square bomber was at court, I think this was just last week. He said the war with Muslims, America’s war, is just beginning, first drop of blood. I don’t think there’s any way to get away from these facts.”

Williams tempered those remarks with the caveat that President George W. Bush clearly stated that America is not at war with Islam. And: “Wait a second though, wait, hold on, because if you said Timothy McVeigh, the Atlanta bomber, these people who are protesting against homosexuality at military funerals, very obnoxious, you don’t say first and foremost, we got a problem with Christians. That’s crazy.”

Too late. Williams already had handed ammo to the Council on American-Islamic Relations. CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad called on NPR to investigate Williams on Wednesday. In a statement Awad charged, “NPR should address the fact that one of its news analysts seems to believe that all airline passengers who are perceived to be Muslim can legitimately be viewed as security threats.”

CAIR is an identity-politics organization that trolls for opportunities to take offense. Whenever anyone acknowledges the nexus between terrorism and radical Islam — not Islam, but radical Islam — CAIR cries foul. Wednesday afternoon within hours of the CAIR complaint, NPR rewarded CAIR’s campaign of intimidation with a scalp.

On Thursday, NPR President Vivian Schiller denied that the firing was about Fox News. I don’t buy that. As Politico reported last year, NPR tried to pressure political correspondent Mara Liasson to sever her ties as a commentator on “Fox News Sunday” and its “Special Report.” In 2009, NPR asked Williams to not use his NPR identification when appearing on “The O’Reilly Factor.” (Monday night, O’Reilly no doubt tweaked NPR management when he said to Williams, “You actually work for NPR, OK?”)Indeed, NPR ombudsman Alicia Shepard told “Talk of the Nation” Thursday that the network should have given Williams an ultimatum — NPR or Fox News.

Eric Boehlert of the left-wing MediaMatters used Williams’ firing to call on NPR to sever its association with Liasson, as well. Wrote Boehlert, “I’m not suggesting Liasson has said anything as offensive as Williams, or that she has that kind of track record while appearing on Fox. I’m just saying that if you look at NPR’s code of ethics, there’s simply no way Liasson should be making appearances on Fox.”

What an insidious pursuit. MediaMatters lives to pillory Fox News for being too conservative — at the same time, it tries to drive moderate commentators off Fox programming.

MediaMatters doesn’t want balance on Fox News. MediaMatters doesn’t want an exchange of ideas. MediaMatters wants to push Fox further to the right.  Its toxic tactics are designed to widen the left-right divide in America by marginalizing not only conservatives, but anyone who associates with conservatives.

I said essentially the same thing months ago in defense of Fox News when NPR attacked them for being too partisan, while simultaneously criticizing Mara Laissan for appearing on Fox News to cover the leftwing flank on the issues.  It seems the insular bubbleheads at tax-payer funded NPR see no irony whatsoever in accusing Fox of being biased—even as they tried to prevent Fox News from including Mara Liasson and Juan Williams on their panels.  No irony whatsoever!  Or maybe they do see the irony, but in their intellectual elitism expect the American public won’t.  After Juan William’s firing, you better believe Mara will now be walking on eggshells at Fox.  You better believe that other moderates and Liberals will think twice before accepting an invitation to appear with Chris Wallace, Bret Baier and Bill O’reilly lest the Fox News “taint” rub off on them.  And I suppose that was precisely the desired effect.

“Culture Jihad”: A Muslim Sees the Light

“Culture jihad” or stealth jihad. Call it what you want, it’s real. CCHQ isn’t a faith blog, but I am a Christian and this one is just too good to ignore (good enough to get me fired from NPR).
